Just so you can rest easy KT knowing the exact detail of the screw i have spoken with my fastener provider and here is his response

Seems to be a phillips drive on the image, a shitty old countersunk timber screw
in galv, (class 3.) finish.
are you looking for another drive option ?

i am actually thinking to use my scientific instrument in the lab to analyse the component. We've got XRAY, Infrared, Microscope for quality analysis! no it will waste my time!

What a long boring straight line drive on Hume Highway between Sydney and Melbourne. Got a Hertz rav4 and the fuel efficiency is so bad. 220km half a tank already.

I will be passing 10000km mark sometimes this week. So far I enjoyed the car except the annoying 3 punctures. The fuel consumption is roughly about 8.5l for average 450km before filling the tank with 98.

The touring is very practical to me as I have been moving scientific instrument to and from NSW Country Towns Wagga Wagga, Griffith, Cooma, Hunter.

The opticoat paint protection is excellent. Beads every single time and combining with rain x coating on windows and aquawax after each wash kept my car bling all the time. I only wash the car by myself using 3 bucket technique and car wash just using the foam gun without brushing at all.

Look forward to the first service.

Reached 10000 km leaving work today. The first six months were quite rocky on my tyres. After receiving 5 nails with 3 replacement tyres. Touchwood my front right is the last standing original tyre. Looking forward to the next six months driving

50k later, it is coming to the final 12 month of my term with F31. Plenty of memory and the car still drives great minus my experience with the punctures over the year (tyre insurance is must for me from now!)

The opticoat is still holding well, except the roof as it's been constantly getting poo poo from the sky, thanks to our tree on the street! i have been doing proper three bucket wash using Adam's products and aquawax drying and apply detail spray to finish.

Certain spots might need to re-apply but in general opticoat is holding well after 59k on the road across most of NSW.

HFW003 i'm going to switch to Audi A4 2.0 Quattro TFSI S-Line, went to BMW sydney and ask for a good deal but there is not much to entice me other than the new 5 series or X1/5.

will have to build the car as i'm a demanding person... apparently non of stock A4 car comes with adaptive sport suspension!

S-Sport package with 19" RS wheel, fine nappa grey leather, oak trim, virtual cockpit, HUD, ambient lighting, Adapative Sport Suspension, MATRIX LED, parking assistance package, assistance package, B&O, heated front seats, no sunroof! (will see whether they will throw in the sunroof with the black styling for free), good discount over $15k on a build car.

i also got the build sheet for the new S4, not many options and the pricing is 130k before discount.

will keep you updated. and sadly i will be leaving the bimmer...
