gap in front splitter??

Those of you that have the front splitter, do you have a slight gap between the front of the center post and the bumper? I installed the two bolts and the metal support bar, but the front has a small gap...about a quarter inch....Where it looks like the lip flexes down a little at high speed. Didn't use the betalink, but should I try to seal that part, or is it normal?

Ill get some pics. There are two different PDF's floating around. one has you add a sheet metal screw towards the front of the center post...the other one just has you put the two torx screws in the back. im going to try to install a sheet metal screw in the morning. The lip isnt going to pull out or anything, it just bothers me that there is a gap in the front of that post between the bumper and the top of the post.

If I am not mistaken mine is screwed from the top down if you are referring to that vertical stump in the middle. I think that is what you are referring too.

Yeah I am referring to that. I ended up screwing in a screw from the bottom, after drilling a small hole in the lip. how did you go from the top down?

I'm having the same issue.

Gonna take a look at it again this weekend.

Hopefully, someone can chime in and add some tips or even photos.

Thanks,

Marc C.

Hey Marc,
I ended up getting a sheet metal screw and putting some adhesive on the threads. I then screwed it in from the bottom.(because last one fell out). Then I taped around the post, and applied some black RTV adhesive. It looks really good now and has been holding good for 2 weeks.

Marine,

Yeah, I'm thinking of doing the same thing.

Gonna redo the center tomorrow.
