Nice looking drop...agreed that now you need some nice wheels to fill it out. If it was me, I'd go for a staggered setup with super deep concave wheels in the back, maybe 19x10 or 19x10.5 Forgestar F14's like jamesonsViggen. Your F30 can def handle a wide tire too!

How many hours did it take to install them? Car looks great by the way and I agree a nice set of 19s would complete it.

Cant afford new rims I'm still in college and I'm paying for my car. I'll probably throw spacers on in a week once the springs settle.

Great thread. I'm want to lower the suspension on my 335i xDrive w/DHP.

However I can hear a audible clicking sound every time I turn the steering 3/4 or a turn to the left. I first heard it in a concrete public garage where I was turning left and the sound was bouncing off the concrete walls. Took it in to the BMW dealership and they checked it out only to tell me that the clicking sound is normal and that it happens whether I'm turning the steering to the left or right. At about 10 mph, it clicks about 2 to 3 times per second.

Not fully convinced that it's normal. If I change the springs not to H&R, I'm afraid they would use it against me and say that the aftermarket springs are the cause of the problem.

As others have posted on this thread, the only other concern is potential longterm adverse affect on the the drivetrain and CV joints.

Definitely would like to lower the suspension along with 19x8.5 front and 19x9.5 rear wheels.

With non-RFT's, the road handling and feel is exceptional with DHP. It seems the road handling and feel is more related to the combined balance of chassis, suspension, and tires. Mutually exclusive is the steering feel which can feel somewhat artificial at times.

If I knew for certain about non adverse affects on drivetrain and CV joint, I would be all over this in a heartbeat. But the truth is I am concerned about this and as such holding out for now.

Did any one have any issues doing the DIY for the xdrive install? I'm ready to do the sway bar removal and the spring compression but I am worried the drive axel for the xdrive won't let the strut out all the way once I get the spring compressed on the front.

Any ideas?

spacers

Rich,
What is the recommended bolt size if I wanted to do 15mm spacers all the way around and is this safe to do with xdrive springs installed on an f30?
Will 15mm cause any issues ?

BTW I got my springs installed, it looks and feels much better!

EJ - Measure the length of the bolt thread from the beginning of the bolt to where it starts to taper. Add 15mm and you have the required spacer size for your setup.

+1 not sure what spacers to get. I'm running an 18 225 square set up.

13 Front, 15 rear appears to the be consensus as the best all around fitment for the car.

H&R is even making a new spacer specifically for the 13mm application
