EDC Delete Question

have a 2018 bmw 430i convertible (F33). i'll be changing my entire suspension (springs and shocks) that does not have EDC. my understanding is that I will encounter errors/codes. but if i switch from comfort to sport, will the engine behavior still update, or will it fail because the non-EDC suspension parts? will the car even start w/ this error?

My Bimmer Brain will be coding out the EDC errors but I'm wondering if it needs to be deleted before the suspension installation. thanks in advance.

I went thru this. Please check my thread for details:

My mechanic did the work. He replaced the suspension and coded the car afterwards. He said a bunch of errors showed after the install and coding removed them. The car started just fine IIRC.

I switch from comfort to sport sometimes and the engine still changes behavior as before.

Hope this helps.

This is a fairly straightforward procedure, best performed by an experienced mechanic (just in case).

What shocks / springs did you select?

Did this myself a few months ago following a guide I got on here and using software obtained for free online along with an ethernet - obd cable I got for about 4 bucks on ebay. I didn't think it was difficult at all if you are comfortable with these kind things. The car retains the drivetrain sport/comfort functionality as others said.
