Aggressive driving

So this is my first performance car (328i Sportline) and I'm wondering if it is normal for there to be a burning smell after driving the car aggressively i.e. flooring it to 60, aggressive cornering for about 15 mins on the street. Seems like it's coming from the engine.

Could be a lot of things, but if it's right off the boat I'll bet you are smelling excess cosmoline burning off.

I've had it for about a month, 1300 miles. I've always noticed it before when pushing the car but since I passed the break in period it is more noticeable after more spirited drives

1300 miles is relatively new. I wouldn't worry about it

Could the smell come from heated tires?

It's the smell of the catalytic converter.

Could be a leaking hose also. Happened to me with another car. If you see no leak under the hood you should be good to go.

Speaking of bad smells, anyone else with a 6MT notice how nasty the clutch smells when you slip it? Holy hell, I was pulling into my garage one day when we had snow on the driveway and I thought my two year old filled the outside trash can with a months worth of diapers in one afternoon. It really is a rotten organic-like smell. Not sure what changed with the clutch since the E92.
