M Sport Alcantara Steering Wheel
Hi Everyone,
I've been looking at options for interior upgrades and this one m sport alcantara wheel really caught my eye, however I have not been able to find it anywhere. It is basically an alcantara version of the m sport wheel. I really like the look of this wheel with the round airbag and button layout vs the m performance wheel. Does anyone know where I can find this wheel?? Thanks in advance! Ray |

It looks custom or at least pre-production. Note the stitching; and the slight pull near where the 9:00 spoke meets the rim.

The problem with that is alcantara is designed to be used with racing gloves. It's not designed for daily use.

Agree. Not a fan of alcantara at all. Doesn't look good for long, and cheapens the look of the car imo. The standard M Sport wheel looks so much nicer.

hmm... good point on the alcantara not being durable.. I wouldn't be all that into wearing gloves while driving, though if they just sold the carbon fiber trim, I'd be all over that!

Your picture is the M-performance version of a 6 series steering wheel that is indeed fitted to a 3 series.
This is the M-peformance version of the 3 series M-sport wheel: If they put the latter into production, I'll definetly order the carbon inlay piece and exchange it with the regular M-sport steering wheel. |

Alcantara lasts fine in the real world. It's not like it's never been done before, stop speculating about 'meant to be used with racing gloves'.

Agreed....when maintained well. I loved the alcantara steering wheel and e-brake in my '05 ZCP M3, which is why I'll go back to it in my '14 335i. I do use the ///M driving gloves, but even still, it can be maintained without the use of gloves.

That wheel is so sick... I really hope it comes out. I feel like that could have been a custom 1 time thing.
