#RIP wallet
Just bought the borla ATAK catback exhaust, carbon fiber trunk lip, and m performance diffuser for my 13' 335i xdrive+mppk. Will update once installed. My dinan carbon fiber intake gets installed at the end of the month. Total cost was 2200$ CAD with shipping for exhaust, lip and diffuser. |

The diffuser was a bitch to push in, and it still isn't flush, I'll get it fixed when I install the exhaust. Last edited by lens; 10-21-2015 at 04:50 PM.. |

For the diffuser, yep it can be a bitch to get pushed all the way in. The rest of the bumper flexing in as you push it in doesn't help at all. What you have to do is unscrew the heat shield and bend it gently back so you can get your hand or a block of wood in there...something to push out as you push the diffuser in. A second pair of hands helps too. I reached around and put a block of wood with one hand and tapped the diffuser in with a rubber mallet. Cover the diffuser with something to prevent scuffing.

Done.
Had to do some little mods to get it to fit like cut the front hanger as it was poking into the gearbox or whatever that thing was? Anyways, had some help from some people as I dunno how to install exhaust systems. Well now I do. Car feels much lighter. Car is in sport mode. Enjoy, I know I am. P.S: IT SOUNDS SO GOOOOOOOOD *sexual moans* However I smell burnt stainless steel lol and it's leaking a bit from the muffler to the resonator area, so I may bring it back to the garage tomorrow and have it retorque and retightened. Every exhaust system drones, but this one only drones if you keep your RPM at 2500-3000 RPM constantly (basically going up a hill or engine under load) if I remember correctly, stock exhaust drones as well at that RPM, this one drones less, but either then that, no drone.
In sport mode as the engine becomes warm, lots of burbles and pop, crackle as you decelerate or downshift. Very, very loud exhaust (had a couple cars pull up beside me with a thumbs up.) IMO this exhaust matches this car. |
