Thanks for putting the effort into this review! Very informative. I get mine w/ MPPK and 8AT next month. I'll have to see about Comfort Mode. I was planning on using it as "Wife in Car Mode" but you may be on to something with the idea of just going to Eco Pro -- especially if you still get decent performance as you described.

I have a 13' 335xi 6MT with the MPE and PPK installed. Did a Dyno run today and got 214 WHP on XDrive model. Not entirely impressed with that number but the car does Drive much better after the PPK install. Also loving the auto shut off is turned off when in Sport+

What were you looking for? Its only about 6whp short of a stock 335is which has a pretty strong stock engine.

Without the PPK the car might only dyno in the 275whp range. If it really was 214whp the dynon was broken or misrun

So port install parts are don't charge labor? That's pretty nice.

What are all the items that can be port installed?

Most of the M-Performance Parts can be port installed. I know the suspension can't be done but I know for sure the following can:

MPPK
MPE
Spoiler
Front Splitter
Rear Diffusor
Side Rockers
Black Kidney Grilles
SS brake pedals
Brakes (though these are much cheaper from the factory now sans drilled rotors)
Most or all of the alcantara/carbon fiber interior parts
Carbon fiber mirror caps

Unsure on the 20s........but I bet they are available as a PIA as well.

In my case the e92 was an M3, so it is a bit unfair to compare them head to head. They could not be more different. Turbo vs NA, inline 6 vs V8, RWD vs xDrive, coupe vs sedan.

But having said that, and for my particular needs, I like the f30 335i MUCH better.

Excellent review!

I'vo got a 2014 F32 435 Msport with MPE and MPPK installed and your video has made me sad
I'm very disappointed with my MPE because its sound is far away from yours and I really believe that BMW has silented the 2014 MPE maybe because of the launch of the new M3/M4, where then worked a lot on the exhaust sound.
Your sound is very similar to my old Performance Exhaust of my ex E91 335xi N54...
Just to make you alla understand, this is my MPE at cold start:

And those are some light revvings:

Just only slightly louder than OEM one!

I'm very happy with the MPPK! The performance improvement are noticeable!!
100/200kmh passed from 13 seconds to 11 seconds!
Here's the video:

You can really feel all additional power and torque!

Just a few minutes ago a friend of mine discovered the probable reason for my "timid" MPE: 2 months ago BMW (in Europe) changed the prekat on all N55 just to make them ready For Euro6 (european standard)... Very sad!

I don't know. We have just controlled again on RealOEM and the kat is always the same, so that's not the reason!
I've got no word guys...

314.....the extra torque is what I feel, not so much the HP

I have the MPPK and exhaust on my car and I do love the sound but I would not say it is significantly faster than before. A 10%hp bump isnt huge, and when you consider that torque is what gives the sensation of speed and the increase there is less than 10%, there is nothing about the MPPK that knocks your socks off. I am still glad I got it though.

They gave me these stickers that come with it and are still in my glove box .. I dont know what to do with them. The dealership almost stuck them on the car! There's a mettalic sticker/badge that also came with it and I put it on the intake (which is the only actual part you get with the MPPK)

I park underground and also drive to my parking space with the window down most days because the exhaust sounds so incredible.

I like the MPPK but the creaks and rattles from the dash and b pillar and the howling HVAC fan are a serious distraction from the enjoyment of the extra power.

uhhhhhh, why not just get a Cobb unit and a pro tune? costs 1/3 the amount and triples your HP gains (vs. BMW tune). Resulting smiles are free.

oh wait, is there a Cobb for the N55 yet? Seriously, I've had no reason to research. (N54 here since 2007)

Great write up. I see a new engine cowl. Was this part of the PPK? I don't think the 135i PPK comes with this, but is about the same price.

Great write up!

Have same setup as you. MPPK/MPE, together they work in harmony.

Like yours, the exhaust tone has gotten sweeter and sweeter over time.

Sure the MPPK isn't going to blow you away with the +35HP, but you can really feel the difference.

I think the shifts with 8AT in Sport mode are enhanced too. People who ride in my car are amazed how sweet a 'up shift' can feel.
