Does Siri work with the F30's Bluetooth?
Is it possible to activate Siri on the iPhone 4S from the steering wheel on cars equipped with Bluetooth?
Or if not, is it possible to activate it from the handset when the handset's in its cradle? |

I have heard you have to activate Siri from the phone itself, but it then works over the cars speakers

This. Paired (and un-paired after I was done) my 4S with the car sitting in the parking lot before going out on a test drive. Took all of 2 minutes and the new iDrive is really pretty good. BT audio streaming works as advertised. Didn't hook up connected drive or get any messaging read to me.

You can activate SIRI only by pressing and holding home button your iPhone.
So if you iPhone inside the cradle, you will have to lift the center dash cover and press home button. Or you can do the same via BT, but you need to have your phone in hand. This limitation is from BMW and Apple, they just need to have integration between car and the SIRI (Mercedes announced such integration int he future) For example, Pandora App is integratable with the car, same for twitter, facebook, iPhone calendar, Web radio (BMW apps option required) 1. BMW Connected app allows twitter, facebook, calendar, web radio integration 2. Pandora App is directly integrated with BMW not through BMW Connected app. 3. iPod App integrated with the car only. Those 3 methods will only work when your iPhone connected via USB or in cradle. On another hand with blue tooth integration you get contacts from your iPhone and audio streaming from your phone via BT (extra option for that) Bluetooth audio streaming gives you less control over your music and options in iDrive compare when you connect via cradle or USB port. |

My test was "Tell me about the Buffalo Sabres" Siri replies, "I've found an article on Wikipedia. Would you like me to read it to you?"
"Yes" Siri then reads the first paragraph of the article. |

I have a 2015 F30 HU_NBT and I get Siri over bluetooth, just by pressing for a long time the voice command button on the steering wheel. I have an iPhone 6S on IOS 9.3

Wait? I tried Pandora this morning and it was just running over BT on the car. Do you have a way to get it to just play through the iDrive? Does it use your cell data or the BMW data?
