I can confirm that this bug has been fixed however in the iOS8.1 GM (which should be out on Monday)

Don't worry it's an easy fix. It's the Phone not the car. Doesn't affect all iPhone 6's but the upgrade to iOS 8 has caused some issues.

You need to reset the settings. Go to General - Reset- and then choose Reset All Settings. Before you do make sure you have all of your passwords etc as you will need to re-enter them. It doesn't erase any data just the phone's base settings. You will need to reconnect to your iTunes and sync again afterwards.

This is on a 2013 330d with Business Nav and 2014 520d with Professional Navigation - my 328i is in the workshop so I'm on loaners!

After the update i have many instances of my phone incorrectly pairing with my phone. Features such as track forward and back wont work and the title shown on the screen will be incorrect. Ill have to either physically press the < and > arrows on the dash or use my iphone to switch tracks. It is getting on my nerves, happens pretty often as well. It was working perfectly before the ios update. Anyone else having similar problems?

I'm having issues with a iphone 5 and 8.0...when I plug in for USB audio, I have to manually adjust/hit play button to listen to music rather than use the native BMW interface.

Just updated to 8.1 (don't trust Apple lately), will let everyone know if the USB issue resolves...

I use 2 iPhones, a 5s (work), and a 6. Both phones seem to pretty much work the same as the my 5s did using iOS 7.x. No better; no worse.

BINGO but on 8.1 and an Phone 6. I can see all of my playlists on USB audio but when I click on one and click on a song, It does not play. I have to go to my iPhone and manually hit play on the phone. I can't get the scroll wheel to actually start playing a song once it's picked. Doesn't matter if the phone is locked or not.

I updated to iOS 8.1 and the problem is solved! Again, i'm on an iphone 5, but it's odd that the 6 is having this issue, being so fresh and new.

Also having this problem on iOS8.1/iPhone 5S. It happened since iOS8.0, then on 8.02, and now 8.1...it's intermittent and frustrating! I have CIC/MY13 (2012 build)

Same problem on IOS 8.1 and iPhone 6. I use this all the time so it's frustrating. I have been using "hey Siri"to play a song. Hoping there is a fix soon.

Running an iPhone 5 and 8.1 - everything for me has been status quo ie everything has worked with no issues - however recently and I'd say it started with 8.1 on occasion when I get into the car and the phone connects via Bluetooth it will go into an active call mode where iDrive shows an active call ie phone off hook - but in reality nothing is happening - no call is being made and nothing is going on.

Now when I'm using GoToMeeting or Google Hangouts for a conference call iDrive acts like an active call is being made but correctly hangs up when the call ends. However when it goes into this call mode for no reason I can quit every app on the phone but it still stays in call mode. Manually hanging up via iDrive does nothing and the only way to kill it is to turn BT off on the phone. If I turn it back on it usually reverts to normalcy.


Anybody else seeing this occur?

If you have your iPhone connected via USB, then you can say "hey siri" and give her commands on iOS 8! Just make sure your phone is outside the middle console.

OK so I think I might have an answer for our issue with the iDrive not being able to play songs. I found that if I have the music app open on my phone and I have it at the main "playlists" screen (in the phone app) it will work. It does not work if I click into a playlist from my phone or click into "now playing". Give that a shot and see if the iDrive controls work.

It won't work via bluetooth or USB. Phone is an Iphone 5S.

The scroll wheel works just fine with other media sources, including Radio; so, clearly, it is an iphone specific issue.

same issue here but it works if i kept my Music app open and not locking the screen.( using iphone 5 , IOS 8.1 ).

i haven't tried iOS 8.0.x stayed iOS-7 because i knew it would cause problems.

I had the same issues. Somehow it eventually fixed themselves. Try a hard reset your phone then plugging it back in (along with updating)

Doesn't work on iPhone 5S/8.1. Trying to figure out a pattern - but really is tough to track down.
