On a 3-year term you're managing to get a well specced 340i for less than £470/month without having to cough-up any of your own cash as a deposit? That does sound like a good deal, who's it from?!

i only pay 30 more for a 440i with Msport Plus..but it is 4 years.
i did actually agree to pay more though as i added the MPPSK exhaust pack and remap

Wifes like Diesel thump mine does, my only reservation would be a clogged up DPF/EGR valve if she doesn't do the miles, but you've got this far so your probably ok.

Just buy your 340

So £500/month for a new 440i over 4 years with zero deposit?

Would that dealer be Parks of Hamilton? If so then it doesn't surprise me, I was looking to buy a new car from them at the end of 2016 and they had absolutely no grasp on what a "good deal" was. I am aware of a group of guys who've bought cars from them thinking they've had a good deal when in reality they've had their trousers pulled down.

Harry Fairbairn aren't much better.

sorry, it's on a 4 year term, but there won't be that much in it, I did put 1k in which will be £25pm. I'm sure I've seen base spec m140's for £300 in £300 p/m or something crazy like that, maybe £350.

Either way at £470, your in 340i, 440i territory, but I guess your neg will be killing you and I'd see what your VT point is.

For every savvy punter that knows and gets a real good deal, you'll have three or four punters that get ripped off, or could've done so much better.

This forum was certainly a catalyst and wealth of knowledge in buying my M140, and knowing what deals were possible.

£329 deposit and £329pm was the deal offered in a few Scottish dealers in Q1.
(Base spec, manual, non metallic paint and only 8000 miles per year).

By way of comparison the link below shows the sort of deal TRL can do.

The discount is £7.4k (22%) and with a minimal deposit (say 1 month in advance) it looks like a 5-door Shadow Edition with metallic paint is coming out at around £350/month. However, that's based on a 4-year term and only 8k miles/annum; if you increase the annual mileage to 12k that pushes the monthly to more like £375 and if you cut the term to 3 years I can see that becoming more like £400/month.

So yes TRL is certainly better than the deal offered to the OP but it still looks to me like a decent spec M140i is over £400/month on a 3-year PCP deal unless you're prepared to put in a decent size deposit to start things off?

Not far off that now, £500 deposit + £369 x 48 (8kpa) can get you a 5Dr in Estoril Blue

Indeed, but he also so makes it easier for other dealers too, if they are prepared to play/need to hit target.

Exactly.
My last car (F30) was bought from John Clark BMW Aberdeen, but being from Dundee, I enquired with my local dealer (John Clark BMW Tayside), where I've had all my servicing and warranty work done over the past 3.5 years first (plus my X3 from Eastern BMW previous to that). As I had asked BMW FS for a settlement figure, they notified Aberdeen automatically, so they were on the phone to me immediately offering a deal, so I basically told both, whoever gave me the best deal got my business. To be fair, I knew the salesman in the Tayside dealership (was the BMW genius previously, and got my young lad a VIP tour of the dealership, and a trip home in an M5, and I got a go in it too (happy days!!)), so made it clear that he had first shout, but he clearly understood that it was only if it was a good deal, and to be fair, he came up trumps!!

As the saying goes, if you don't ask, you don't get! ;-)

Looks very clean. And yes I would offer £19 first. Then move closer to around £20.

With my car being a Euro 5, put yourself in my shoes.

Is it right to be looking for a replacement in LCI M135i, M140i or 340i from now while my car still has some decent value?

You won't get a 340i for £20k at the moment. That M135i is a lot of car for the money @ anything under £20k

And similarly, TRL said to me the moment he enquiries with BMWFS that the supplying dealer would be notified and on the phone and wouldn't match his offer even if they said they would.

Next day they were on the phone as told, saying they'd likely beat the offer. In fairness when I got my F31 from them they beat the online brokers prices so I thought game on.

After telling them all details and them phoning me back 3 times to clarify the same shiit as they were struggling, they said I must have put a shotgun to the other dealers head to get the deal I'd got. Nope, thats TRL.
