Launches at +- 2500RPM with the little flags on the right cluster corner (Extended cluster), very sweet!

But with RWD, wheel still spins more than I like, which ios why I'll go with 20", 275/30. May add an LSD also to help.
Thanks for the info. Its interesting why would BMW set it at 2500rpm when the general consensus is that 2000rpm or just below seem to be the sweet spot for launching a stock 335i with stock tyres. That's also my personal experience at the drag strip, the quickest times were all by launching at around 1800 to 2000.

Because they didn't actually "set" anything. That's just the stall RPM of the torque converter.

I'm pretty sure you can stall higher than that or does ZF works different to a conventional stall converter?

Some are saying no but obviously with yours it could be done. I also have a rwd 335. Can you direct me to the code?

Direct your to the code...? First you need to search the coding sticky. If you don't know what you're doing don't, you will and can brick your ecu. You MUST have a sport transmission or you can't do it.

Second you need E-sys software.
Third you need to buy an obd Ethernet cable so you can hook up your car to the PC.

Fourth you need to code the following under FA:
EGS 3000 SPORTSHALTER >aktiv
EGS 3000 LC >aktiv

Note that your car has to be on at least 50.4 in order for this to work.

The other way to do it is to VO code EGS with a build date of 07/13 but I don't know if anyone has tried that yet.

Good luck.
And yes you can code it on 2012 and 2013 cars
Most of us have done it. 2014+m sport have it standard with 8ZF.

Well, you just need an F30 with an 8-Speed Auto Tranny.

The Sport Auto Transmission is the same as regular 8-speed transmission model, it's all software.

If you follow the instructions that come with the E-Sys Software, you will be fine. You can ask for help finding this in the Coding section of the F30 forums.

It's not as scary as you think to code your car, so long as you follow instructions. I have personally never seen any car get fully 'bricked' neither in-person or via forums due to 'coding'. Interruptions while flashing or writing to the VCM may cause a brick, but that's not needed for modifying and writing CAFD files. It is even listed in the instructions to disable MSM and VCM updating anyways. I would be surprised to see the thread showing someone actually screwed up their car without being able to fix it.

You can also code the Sport Transmission feature with an 8-speed auto. Just change 205 to 2TB in your FA and VO Code your EGS, ICM, and KOMBI. (This will also add Sport+ if you don't already have it.) Launch control may be listed as LC or Applikation_LC in the EGS module. Both these features and more are listed in cheat sheets all around.

I'm good on it, I've coded my car fully, I was just sharing with the guy that asked the question on how to code. It's not scary for us because we know how to and what we're accustomed to seeing. Just saying he needs to do some reading up before attempting to just plug in his pc to his obd.

The first step is to email shawnsheridan for the latest version of esys.

Really bad track prep ? High temps ?

I've only had a single run at the local track, it was on and off misty wet and their track prep sucked and I still ran a 13.3 @108
