Here where I live the M5 w/o any options starts at USD 145.000, the M3 starts at USD 103.500.

They "guy who spent 700K" on it was Rick Hendrick, a team owner in motorsports. He obviously did it for charity, not because that's what he thought it was worth. I'm not a NASCAR fan, but I've always been a fan of the way Hendrick runs his teams.
