Is this grounds for divorce?
Was telling my wife about the X3 40i tonight. As an X3 driver I thought she would be interested to hear about.
Still recovering from the feedback ..... "Why can you not just look at normal cars". |

Makes me appreciate Mrs Tengocity, who indulges my car obsessions. It's the deal we have for me not having a motorbike!

My wife also indulges my car dreams and let's me buy what I want as she knows I won't overstep it.
Because of her great attitude we picked up her brand new Golf GTi today, if she was less keen on motors it would have been a 1.4 boring wagon. |

I got told "why do you always want the fastest, most powerful car?"
Still I'm also told if you can afford it, it's up to you. |

We looked at an X3 but the ride in the back was imo really poor vs the 335d xd.
Also it just felt a bit cheaper and more upright, and had less room. I'm not sure I could live with the added costs and reduced luxury just so it was a bit higher. |

Think you need to trade her in for a new model as well

I gather the new one is a step up in refinement.

By no means am I knocking my 330d, I still think it’s a great car.
When my wife got her X3, I wasn’t sure about it. I hadn’t really seen it, and she had done the test drives. I have previously had LR Freelander and 2 x MLs, so have a bit of experience of SUVs. I find the X3 a nice place to be both a passenger and a driver. The cabin is a lot bigger that 3er and everything feels just right. I haven’t driven car without variable dampers, but this one just feels right with them. My first drive of the car was to York. It was a comfortable motorway cruiser as well. It isn’t the fastest thing on the road, but it does everything you ask of it. Not sure this makes sense or helps you? |

I don’t find the tyre roar bad - that’s partly why I only wanted 19” wheels. May also be because the noise proofing is better. Any more questions, let me know! |
