I'm also planning on ED for an F31
I have family in Germany that we are going to visit anyway so ED is a no-brainer (no rental car, save a bunch of money). I've heard that $500 to 1000 over ED invoice (from bmwconfig.com) is considered a good offer, given that it is literally paying the dealer $500-1000 (plus incentives that may or may not exist) to fill out paperwork. They don't need to have money sitting on their lot and the car isn't counted against their allotment. It is however counted toward their sales targets. They make extra money above the profits negotiated on the fixed number of cars that they are allowed to sell by BMW. It's not "buy low, sell high...it's just brokering a deal. Some dealers see an informed customer and realize that they're not going to make $6k profit and loose interest. I'm not sure if they see ED as competing with their own sales or what but I'm not paying US prices so they get my business through ED or not at all. I'm wondering if anyone knows of any dealers that do a lot of EDs and will bite on an offer to make some extra money without the run-around.

Detroit area. I've gotten a lot of wrong answers and misinformation locally. I want to deal with someone who knows the process inside out and isn't looking to screw me over.
