I want to buy some Ripple (XRP) to hold for the long term. I've traded in the past, just never Cryptocurrency, I've spent the last few weeks researching and I intend to store the currency in a hardware wallet. My problem at the moment is trying to find a reputable company to actually buy the currency. Most of the reviews / feedback on line have a lot of negative comments about companies that allow you to buy. I realise that typically you only get the negative feedback online so this is probably a small proportion of the overall user base of the companies but still - it is a concern, particularly as it appears a lot of these transactions are unregulated.

I've been looking at Kraken.com, GateHub, BuyVirtualCurrency.co.uk etc

Does anyone have any first hand experiencing of Buying Cryptocurrency - if so please share any recommendations of where to buy?

I use Kraken - never had a problem, good reliable service but it is ball ache to get verified to increase your limits etc..... So much so that I have not bothered!!

Do you know what the lower limits are?

I use Kraken (via cryptowat.ch) and GDax for trading. If you want to purchase then Kraken should be fine but take a look at https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/ripple/#markets and see where's giving you the best rate for the currency you're trading from.
