Goodbye Audi, Hello BMW

Just placed an order for a 2013 335i Sedan, found one with all the specs I'm looking for and it is currently in transit from the EU. Expecting it in mid-December. Coming from a 2012 A5, I loved the look of the car it was beautiful but just lacked the refinement of BMW.

Can't wait for it to get delivered here are the specs:

Black Sapphire Metallic
M-Sport Package
19" 403M Wheels
Black Dakota w/Aluminum Hexagon Trim
Premium Package
Tech Package
Sport Transmission
Harmon Kardon
Heated Front Seats
Rearview Camera w/PDC

Already having it tinted when it arrives at the dealer and not having a dealer prep done. I've read before on many Audi forums they recommend to have no dealer prep to avoid any damaging to the paint.

Already looking to have the M Performance Exhaust and some suspension upgrades. What is the best route for lowered suspension in BMW, Kw v1s or H&R?

Anyway looking forward to being part of the BMW group and cant wait to hear back from you guys. I'm in the greater Houston area so if there are any get togethers or anything let me know!

Congrats! Nice configuration. So far, I am very pleased with the H&R Sport springs with the OEM "M" adaptive dampers in the dynamic handling package.

Yes, I'm also very happy with the H&R Sport Springs too.

Did a customer order it originally and cancel, or the dealer just do it?

Only bad part of dealer prep is them drilling into your front bumper to add the stupid front license plate holder.

No wonder. I had an 2010 S5 until Jan 2012.

Great cars inside and out. Don't think I can drive a non sline for aesthetic reasons.

Monsoon, Ibis, and Phantom were my 3 fav colors.

Let me know how the nav and backup cam compares to the Audi.

The Mercedes cam is shit right now. Once I'm done w the Benz, will most likely do a ED for a 4 series.

Going from a bare bone A5 to a fully loaded 335i, no wonder why you think BMW is more refined

Yeah your right. I looked into an S4 but I felt the options from BMW were more advanced. I can't stand the Audi interface for navi/radio I think iDrive has a bigger advantage with their technology. A some other little things, like the Audi's 2nd cup holder can only hold a red bull sized can, BMWs shifter, the HUD that isn't even offered with S4.

When I picked up my car, the dealer asked if I wanted the front plate mounted before drilling. I said "no". Car looks much better without it.

congrats man. i'm hoping to make this switch soon too.

i've got an 2010 A4 that is part of the engine oil burning mess. i've burned 1.5 quarts in the last 1800 miles. AUDI is fantastic like that. on this thanksgiving day im thankful that people will buy a used audi for more than $8.

I also have my first BMW, F31 330d m-sport. I nearly ended up with an audi A5 3.0 quattro s-line... But it's true what they say, all said and done the BMWs drive better.

The Audi interior was certainly very nice though - it was a close call. But the 3 series was simply the better overall car. And god it shifts, no way the Audi can match it's speed or efficiency like for like.

Bit odd being branded as a BMW driver for the first time in my life!

Congrats, and welcome. I like Audi especially the A5/S5 lines but they just dont feel quite like a BMW to me. I think you will really enjoy your 335i. Big power bump for you.

I love the new ZF 8 speed in my 335i. The sport shift trans option for $300 is a must have. I havent had the pleasure of driving a DCT equiped car but Im told its right behind it as far as the shift speed goes. Not as quick or ferocious but its very good for not being a double clutch.

Congrats and welcome!

I very nearly purchased an A5 but chose the 328i instead. I loved the A5's body but didn't like the small trunk, tilt only moon roof & the lag on acceleration.

My BMW has much better acceleration and is a much better ride. Definitely a better car. I'm sure you'll be more than satisfied with your choice.

When they run a brand new car through a car wash and wipe it down when the car is partially clean the damage the paint. I have seen detailers post pictures of Ferraris that came off the boat to the dealer and went through prep and were delivered with major swirls in the clear coat. I see it all the time when I look at cars at the dealership.

For that exact reason I requested my CA to make sure they don't put it through the swirl maker.

A couple weeks ago I passed an oncoming Audi and the driver flipped me off. I laughed. That must have been one hardcore Audi lover. Congrats man, your gonna love it.
