Its entirely possible that the next conservative PM will not invoke article 50 until another general election is held, at which point labour may have another leader and the UK may get a second chance as labour could campaign to ignore the vote and remain not sure it is likely but possible... especially if the next 3-4 months are terrible

At least all that cash that we'll supposedly be saving should ensure that we can look forward to a world class healthcare system, billiard table smooth roads, a modern interconnected transport system and those desperately needed new power stations.

Assuming that the 1% of GDP that went to the EU is as significant as it was made out to be.

Well done England, goodbye UK? I was listening to the news for the past 8 hours driving to London. Some interesting thoughts. Illusions of migration controll- France wants the British boarder control to be removed immediately from their territory, all immigrants who managed to get to Britain coudn't be sent back to France like it is now according EU rules. Scotland would like to put the new referendum on the table before the actual UK exit from EU, so Scotland would remain in UE.
Sinn Fein leaders want to start talking of united Ireland. Interesting to see what happens in the next 2-3 years.

You won't believe what you are saying, will you?
NHS will be private soon with a lot of patients contribution, no way goverment would spend a penny more on NHS. There were claims to save £20 bn a year even if healthcare funding in the UK is just half of what is spent for healthcare in Switzerland.

That's what I'm hoping for. Part of me naively hopes that DC resigned to give a remote chance to a second referendum after a renewed offer from the EU. I also naively hope that Boris is smarter and more deceiving than he looks and only went against DC to secure the PM job, and that he doesn't actually want to leave the EU!

Is it true that Parliament has to accept the referendum results before making any decision about Brexit?

No, I don't believe that any of the supposed savings will be spent on anything that any of us will actually notice. Personal opinion of course.

He looks, and acts, like a complete buffoon, but the reality is quite different. He seems to know how to manoeuvre himself into the political positions that he wants to be in.

Good on you Brigand, I have been in gold since October and bunged quite a sizable chunk in again recently.

A nice little earner even if I say so myself

Joking aside I think we will be fine on all levels and I am personally rather proud to be British for a change. I believe we have blazed a trail for the rest of the 'proper' EU countries to get out and I will be very surprised if the EU exists on any level in 10 years time.

IMO it is an outdated and poorly conceived concept and in 3 years time we are going to be wondering why we never got out earlier.

Sit tight guys it may be a rough ride for some over the next 24 to 36 months but we will emerge a leaner, more efficient, richer and prouder country at the end of it

With such a tight margin and Scotland & N.Ireland voting IN, i am surprised the EU has not given the UK some very minor concessions for either the option for a second vote or for the gov to scrap the decision.

I am worried that most leave votes where because of migration - which in a globalized economy is very short sighted and in a year or so we could see the UK being made up of wales and England (i need to move to Scotland and get a Scottish passport)

Oh and in answer to the question posed - "What have we done?"

Taken back control, ensured we are masters of our own destiny in the years ahead, and provided the foundation from which our children and our children's children can flourish and thrive.

Was a remain voter myself to be honest.

Question for all the "wise" ones out there.

There's a petition going on even as we speak re another referendum which is/ has gained done real momentum with it having reached the magic 100,000 mark thereby being eligible for parliamentary debate again. The response to this has been so great it crashed the system and reached that mark fairly rapidly.

Thoughts and comment .........

Another petition is pointless, it sort of bizarrely goes against democracy.

What do we have next general election if it's close, petition for another election.

We are out, the sooner that is accepted and bargaining begins the better.

For example - actually target specific Commonwealth countries with free movement of Skilled persons.

Setting up a proper trading empire with non EU English speaking countries.

Closer ties to India and other large non EU economies.

It is not the end of the world.

Huge run on Irish passports today, applications were flying out of the post offices

I hope some of those who voted to leave on a whim and now in the cold light of day they now know what it feels like to go out for the night, pull a bird, take her home to get you jiggy on, only half way through she throws up on you and crashes out, leaving you to clear it all up and then to matter worse when you put the light on in the morning she's got a 12 inch cock of her own between her legs

(didn't really happen to me honest)

Big words which mean nothing. Take back control of what? What actualy is in possession of other country or EU you can't controll? You are fooled by Nigel and co. BTW young people did not want to leave EU.
That's it. I have enough of politics for a long while.
