Thankfully not me this time!

However, the crew ran out of experience and skill just before they ran out of altitude (luckily no major injuries). Location was Crossmaglen, South Armargh. We got there on the follow-up an hour after the spank-in when it was dark and snowing.

Due to the location where they crashed, the only ground access was through a hard-line Republican estate. It was a Sunday (St Paddies day) and Crossmaglen had just won the all Ireland GAA championships so the locals were understandably shitfaced. Add to that the British Army had just plonked a Lynx in their back yard and a riot ensued. They bricked and petrol bombed the ambulances recovering the casualties until the PSNI took control.

Wee little scamps playing....

One of the less damaged Tangis back at Bessbrook Mill

After a couple of days, it got recovered by a Chinook and everyone lived happily ever after....

Wow, more pictures telling a story...thanks for that

Nice! That's a proper camera that is. You got the sky, fields balance perfect.

That is a serious machine! But the composition is spot on. One of those 'relax and stare forever' photos. Rare and lovely.

A day of 2 halves up here today.
Beautiful warm sunshine until about 1:30pm, then the clouds rolled in.

River Lossie Estuary and the East Beach.

Then half an hour later we get this -

XV Sqn - Final Flypast

A couple of shots (which might interest Brigand) of 15 Sqn's Final Flypast at RAF Lossiemouth this afternoon.
15 Sqn is being disbanded and the aircraft are moving to RAF Marham. It has been a very dull, grey and wet day, so these images were the best I could manage-

After 24 years of flying from RAF Lossiemouth, this familiar sight will be no more.
We now have several squadrons of Typhoons here at RAF Lossiemouth and in the next couple of years they will be joined by the new P8 Poseidon Maritime Patrol aircraft.

Thanks for your comments
No Photoshopping, other than a little clarity and sharpening. Here's the RAW images on the card showing the 2 that were used. You may be able to see from the preceding frames that these guys had got their formation just about spot on. The weather was awful for them.

Was only joking mate. The Tornado has a notorious reliability record! They make Mercedes look reliable......

My memories of the weather at Lossie were it was either gorgeous or foul. No inbetweens.
