Correction- I fooled myself looking at the picture I had impression that there isn't any but closer look and...... Yes
Haha....It was a neccesity on this, makes it feel a bit more special than all the regular 3/420ds on the road.... Not that they cant have it but most probably dont.

Really nice car indeed!

Seen (and heard!) my first 340i today, sounded fantastic!! Was a red touring whilst I was at Sandbanks.

I wouldn't worry about the lack of pick up as its brand new. I think all new cars are like this (mine have) - but they fly once they get a few thousand on them.

Looks lovely. After having had a black sapphire car before I know for sure that carbon black is the only black I'd ever consider getting... Looks so much better to me.

Great spec and a great looking car, enjoy! My old M3 CS was Carbon Black and, while it took a bit of effort to keep it looking good, it was well worth it and was to my eye far nicer than the Black Sapphire I had on the 335i which succeeded it!

Looks great, so pleased that you got yours before me (!!!!!!). Should be picking mine up on Tuesday if not before (just arrived at dealer).

But anyway, enjoy it and get some miles done so you can enjoy the performance.

Yeh, I wouldn't have gone for black...had a black one before...if the dealer didn't show me what it was I probably wouldn't have gone for this...but they happened to have a CB X5 in the show room next to a SB 3 series. Completely different colour when next to each other.

I never had the bmw coating thingy done...last one seemed like a waste.

I think I'm going to give a detailer I have seen a call... Get it looking spot on from the start!

OMFG... First of all, carbon black, What a colour!

Coming from a nicely run in 330d. Engine is completely different (obviously)
and i loved the 330d, so smooth (no ASD). but this is a drivers car. I am getting used driving it at the moment, i havent needed to do much over 4k revs for years.....so i need to used being able to drop gears and revs. I did the paddle hold to drop multiple gears. What a sound? breaking in a bit at the moment, so cant bring myself to redline....but up at those revs this must be a ridiculouly fast car. In fact i cant imagine what M3/M4 feels like.

I used to be an engineer at Bentley and have been fortune enough to drive them alot for testing. but being smaller cars and nimble is such a different feel.

4 Series does feel a different car, mine was a 63 plate touring, maybe some of that is 45000 miles

Need to get more driving now, only had chance to do 50 mile so far.

The photographer in the background is my dad....not some random onlooker

Lovely car and a great colour choice. Nice to see a GC 440i. Enjoy it!

Lovely looking car!

Very interesting to hear your comparison to the 330d, it is certainly giving me itchy feet! Keen to hear how it goes as it loosens up!!!

Please no comparisons. I still miss my M135i that I traded in for the 330d
I am getting itchy feet with all these 340i's at the moment and the big discounts on the M135i.
