Anyone pull out the extra air filter on the N26?
I tried running an aftermarket intake but kept getting lean faults. I went back to stock but I removed the extra air filter they added for the N26. The lean fault returns but it takes much longer than with the aftermarket intake installed. I also have a BMS stage 1 tune and am hoping that isn't what's causing the fault.

Simple enough to determine. Put the extra air filter back it and wait for the lean fault. If you don't get the fault, suspect the tune.

I know, I'm just sick of messing with the damn thing lol. I took it in and out a few times already trying different things to get the aftermarket intake to work

Yup, still have the light on, lol
Haven't dyno'd yet - I probably won't do one without the dp, a bit too hard to switch out on a whim. Will do with & w/o tune though. There's a dyno in the shop next door to ours, I should have gotten numbers through every step of the modding process, kind of regret it now.

Wouldn't it also say SULEV or ULEV underneath the hood? I have a 2012 328 in Arizona with the N26 manufactured in 5/2012 and mine says SULEV underneath the hood and I have the electronic wastegate.
So if it says SULEV then its the N26 and if it says ULEV then its the N20 right? |

to check which engine you have is to look for the stamped engine code at the front of the cylinder block.. its between the air intake box and the block.

Interesting, I was under the impression all newer F30 328i's in CA, as well as some other states, were N26? I thought I had read all manual transmission cars would be N20 but this could have been incorrect.
On your title is your car listed as 328i or 328is? I believe N26 are listed as 328is which indicates SULEV (Super Ultra-Low Emissions Vehicle).

My 2013 328i 6MT has an N20, and an electronic wastegate. The 2013 BMW ordering guide published last June indicates that there is no SULEV/N26 with 6MT, only ULEV/N20. Of course that's subject to change at some point.
