Obtaining a RHD F30
I was reading the Optimal Driver Setup thread and someone mentioned a RHD BMW, but wat I was wondering is, does anyone know if you can get a RHD car in the US today? I found a thread that mentioned you had to do some kind of diplomatic delivery but could only have it here for a certain time frame, and that was back in '07. if not or there is a ton of paperwork or huge extra cost it's not worth it but i was just curious if it's even possible. Thought it might be something unique to set your car apart from the rest here.

Put some mods on your car, get a unique vehicle if you want to be different. You don't need to sit on the other side of the car to be different.
Good thing that you're "just wondering", otherwise I'd be questioning your sanity. I might still be! |

If you want to sit on the right buy a used postal vehicle off Ebay.
Other than that, the answer is no. US vehicles are designed differently and certified for use in the US in more ways than just being LHD.

Yea if it was just like a "secret option" on the car or something that would be cool but i think this car will stand out enough as it is. thanks guys!

why would you want to do that to yourself...??
your front passenger wont be happy having to walk on the dangerous side of the road... instead of directly accessing your car from the curb...

I remember a few years ago it was possible to buy the Nissan Skyline GTR R32 which is right hand drive. I dont know how they did it but I have heard rumors about shipping the car to Canada first then import it from Canada to the US.
Too much work for a BMW since the car was originally designed LHD and also is sold here. Would only makes sense if you wanted a car that is not sold here

Now they're all illegal to own/register. You can google the full story searching for Motorex if you're interested.
