In all seriousness, a lovely spec and even if you do stick to Tanzenite, it will work very well on the F31.

Is there an issue with Comfort Access and ease of theft by the criminal classes? May have misremembered something but it put me off ordering it when I'd have loved to open the boot with a wave of the foot!

Hi-fi upgrade, panoramic roof and electric seats would be the essentials for me.
I didn't get electric seats and wish I'd held out.

If there is a heated windscreen option now (I don't think there is) then that would be first on my list.

Regardless of all that, you will love the new one.

Tanzanite Blue - epic in bright sunshine, bit flat when overcast
Opal White Merino Leather - BMW Individual - needs regular attention!
Advanced Parking Package - hardly use.
Interior Comfort Package - integrated option, don't really notice it.
M Sport Plus Package with BMW Icon Adaptive LED Headlights and 442M wheels Bicolour Orbit Grey Metallic - I like the LEDs, HBA very responsive.
Media Package - Professional - use all the time. One of my first choices.
Steering Wheel Heating - was very meh about this but now love it.
Adaptive M Sport suspension - use it all the time.
Comfort Access - seamlessly integrated, don't really notice it.
Electric Towbar - used occasionally.
Panoramic Sunroof - wouldn't be without it.
Ext Folding Mirrors - use all the time.
Electric Front Seats and Driver Memory - expensive but worth it.
Lumbar Support - hardly use, had real problems with it to begin with.
Seat Heating - Front - use all the time in winter.
Seat Heating - Rear - never use. God knows why I specced them!
Active Cruise Control - hate it.
Surround View - use it occasionally. Useful when I do.
Head-up display - v useful, if it was an option on another car I'd have it.
Enhanced Bluetooth - use it all the time.
Speed limit Display - v useful, especially when overseas.
AC Schnitzer twin exhaust conversion. Hmm!

Things I wish I'd specced:

Individual leather dash. Just lifts the interior I think, especially as that's the thing you're going to sit in front of all the time.

Hope this helps!
Why do you hate ACC? It's just like normal cruise control but when the car in front brakes, you don't have to brake! Plus it holds your car in static traffic so you don't have to hold your foot on the brake, amongst other benefits. What's to hate?

It's probably my favourite option.

Agree absolutely a premium car like the 3 series should definitely have electric seats!

It's probably my favourite option.
A lot depends on how you use your car and what your expectations of the system are. I find it far too intrusive and too lazy. It leaves a sizeable gap in front of you which some chopper always manages to fill so the car can brake quite aggressively causing people behind you to wonder what the hell you're doing. It also waits an age for the car in front to clear its lane before it speeds up again. Where I do find it useful is in 50 mph average speed zones, A roads and heavy stop/start traffic but as most of my driving is on a motorway I simply don't like it. I suspect if I was doing 20k miles a year I would have a different viewpoint but I don't. It's not a fire and forget system, you do have to work with it and I find I have to work with it more than I would do compared with conventional cruise control.

Fair play if you like it, I just can't get along with it!

I have electric seats in my F31 and, much as I like them, if the budget was tight they'd be one of the first things I'd do without if I was ordering again.

I also have the adjustable lumbar support which I find useful and would spec again - the fact that feature isn't standard in a £40k top of the range 3-series really is a disgrace IMO!

Comfort access is an absolute must in a family wagon. Ok we managed to live without keyless before but it makes life sooo much easier.

I had manual seats in my last F30 and hated them, the back didn't have enough adjustment, it was often too far back on one setting and too far forward on the next one. And adjust the seat height upwards while driving was nigh on dangerous!!

I'd only echo the others when I say to add comfort access and surround view.

I primarily use the comfort access when I've got the typical hands full scenario of two kids holding both hands with plenty of bags, toys and other crap that kids seem to need. One quick kick under the bumper and the boot goes up (magic boots are also cool to young kids). Same at the other end when you've unloaded everything and got your hands full, another quick kick and the boot closes. I wouldn't be without it.

Surround view is useful in tight turning places or parallel parking. As I do a lot of both it's one less problem to deal with, especially when you've got kids in the back asking the usual sort of random questions that kids do.

You could add the leather dash, it does lift the interior, but it's a 'nice to have' rather than anything. The leather at the top of the doors under the windows are sticky finger magnets though so be wary!
