Interesting that he doesn't mention anything about the soft suspension!

Really good , honest review , like it.

Shame they used the manual. I cant see why anyone would buy a manual 320D ....

I love the auto box in my 320D, makes the car IMO.

Also, soft suspension? I dont find it soft atall.

Yes mate very soft suspension, hence why so many on here have fitted ACS springs!

If he had a 335D, he wouldn't need a weekend toy. It's a shopping car, track car and winter car all in one

Change the tyres and the springs, very little would keep up!

What are the chances of Chris Harris getting the top gear gig?

Nil, Evans won't allow anyone to overshadow himself, poor choice IMO.

I think you need a bigger personality for TV, everything has to be hyped up else people get bored

Seems excessive on a 320D...for the type of driving you do in a 320D, suspension is just fine..IMO

I see Chris Harris has made his way onto the new (History channel) Fifth Gear now. Was watching one the other day with him and Tiff in a Ferrari 458 Speciale and a Porsche 911 GT3. Not sure if it was as good as watching Plato and Tiff together though.

Fifth gear has taken such a dive, need some new blood IMO and a bigger budget.

I don't think the 320d is the best all rounder, I have one and is great for motorway, but needs a bit more feedback around the twisties. Maybe the LCI answers these questions.

The loaner I have at the mo, the plastics feel different to my 14 plate, I wonder if these changed between the 2 MY's?

If Fifth Gear moves any further up the channels it will be on QVC.

Just because someone can do the odd You tube review, does not make them ideal for presenting shows.

While Harris's reviews are usually okay, not sure I could put up with him droning on as a presenter.

Just because you have a 4 pot doesn't mean you should have to lean around all the corners!

a 4 pot will turn in better and carry bit more corner speed... all the more reason for decent springs

Must all be limp wrist end sheep worriers around here then.

The 328i I was stuck behind the other day, kept braking at the start of every bend n corner, annoying as hell.

Great vid by Chris Harris. My wife drives an F31 320d SE auto, and when I had my last car, a 135 M Sport Coupe, I have to say the 320D was a better cover to go on a long journey in. We are getting about 45mpg overall. In my view with 'every day' non enthusiastic driving, SE is best!

l.
I have the manual dye to budget constraints, that said I had a 320d loaner with the auto box on Friday and just didn't like it. It works perfectly adequately but it just doesn't feel like driving to me, maybe a bit old school but I enjoy stirring the box myself.

When I first got the car I also was surprised at how soft I found the suspension compared to the out going E90 model. 83k miles into my ownership and I am really pleased with it for its allowance to make fast comfortable progress.

Nice to see a car review on a car I can relate to
