LCI = Life Cycle Impulse. It's a BMW name for when they do an update "mid cycle" and not a completely new model. F30 has had a few LCIs since 2012.

LCIs usually occur in year 5 of BMW's 7-year cycle.

I believe the F30 LCI was introduced as a MY16 - the same year that they changed the designation to 340.

Yes, think that's correct. But there were incremental improvements in MY '14...just maybe not called LCI.

That's my understanding as well.

There are generally subtle improvements or changes from each MY within the same chassis and without their being an LCI.

There were some changes from MY13 -> MY14, like NBT iDrive changes, but this wasn't an LCI.

LCI's are generally also married to minor body redesigns.

BMW needs to do with the 3 series what Honda did to the civic, come back to it's sport's car roots and forget to try to please everybody. The best BMW is the 2 series now, it's more sporty and you don't see the everywhere like the 3 series.

The civic was never a sports car. It was an economy car. The had the si in the lineup as a performance oriented civic.

Hence the M3 is what the performance car to the 3 as the si or R is the the civic.

My friend leased a new 2017 BMW 330i. Is is any different from previous models? I'm helping him to find a front lip splitter
