Just picked her up today after a two month wait.
2015 435i Gran Coupe M-Sport DHP 19" 442 orbit gray wheels MPPK MPE Black kidney grill <will insert complete build info later, but it's got basically every option except LED lighting package. Yes, it means I also got the parking assistant > I feel like I got a good deal with multiple $1k incentives and I think a good negotiated cap cost. It was $69k MSRP, and negotiated price with incentives was slightly over $60k with their "permaplate" leather and fabric protection for free. My initial thoughts on looks: - Mineral gray is even better in person. There's more depth to the paint than can be represented in photos. But I think that's generally true with most of their colors - orbit gray wheels looks amazing in person. Again, photos don't do them justice. - love the blue calipers on the M performance brakes - the car sits lower than photos indicate (photos make the wheel gap look larger than it is). It looks better in person Initial thoughts on the driving: - I've only driven 5 miles so far but overall it's an amazing upgrade from my 2004 Z4 - even in sport+, the ride is more compliant than my Z4 - the RFTs are far better than I was expecting but I'm still planning on replacing with Michelin PSS so I can throw the RFTs back on before I turn the car in at lease end Initial thoughts on the interior: - high quality! - love the M sport steering wheel - the iDrive is has some amazing features but the interaction design is really really bad. I can't believe how bad it is on some cases. I work in software industry and wish I could talk to the product team and tell them how to improve it. - the iDrive features are almost overwhelming. For once, I have to read a manual! - the Siri integration triggered from steering wheel voice button is crazy convenient but the processing by the phone is noticeably slow but it's not BMW's fault. - I compared back to back Bluetooth audio vs usb and it's shocking how bad Bluetooth is. Really really bad. My mods will be minimal, if any, given its a lease. I do hand IND color matched side markers in transit to me and will be putting on 10 and 12mm spacers. I'm also considering Dinan shockware though but waiting until I get a feel for the suspension more. Here are some initial photos from my iPhone. Will take more photos later! |

Nice ride Bobbydigital and congrats on the deal.. if you figure out a way to change those orange turn signal bulbs to something more stealth (without going LED), let me know!

nice, you'll love the car more and more. I like my car now at 10k miles more than ever. it has opened up & broken in.
i think you're a little harsh on i-drive, but i guess you're admittedly a software snob. i thought the sport seats were uncomfortable, but now they've broken in and feel great. congrats |

But I think I'm not being unfair. Some examples based on barely any usage: - hitting left on the knob takes you "back" but going right doesn't go forward", meaning select the item you're on - zooming in on map is counter clockwise on the knob instead of clockwise. This is unequivocally backwards. - having redundant functions can be good but it can also be confusing. Why does left on the knob do back and yet they still insist on having a "back" button? |

Thanks for compliments everyone! Loving my car so far but nervous as it feels so much bigger than my Z4. Just need more time behind the wheel to get a feel for its size. My wife probably think I'm cheating on her due to the past two days me going out "for a drive" late at night to familiarize myself with the car
My first mod I did myself happened today! I successfully coded: - orange sidemarkers in the headlights to be off when headlights on (but still function properly as blinkers) - M performance logo in the instrument panel on startup - //M logo on iDrive startup - auto unlock all doors when ignition turned off (I'm planning on coding it to automatically lock all doors when no doors are opened for 60s) I'm struggling figuring out how to enable 6NS since the E-sys tool UI doesn't match the instructions I was given but I'm sure it's something simple. |

Photos showing two results of coding:
1. //M logo on iDrive startup 2. Sport gauges are silver and red without the Amber inside the dials. This is the "M" style design. |

I love the profile of these cars, a really good compromise between a practical vehicle and a sports car. Love your colour, a very close second to mine.
