Ontario 1500 Videos added!
You likely know about the "One Lap of America". Well this is Southern Ontario Canada's version of the excitement. ALM3 and I will be competing in this extravaganza in the M4. Please come and join us.
The Adventure is a 7 day automotive tour and competition at the best race tracks in Ontario - Canadian Tire Motor Sport Park (GP and DDC), Calabogie, Shannonville, Grand Bend, TMP. The competition is comprised of "Time Attack", "Autoslalom" and "Drag Races". Each evening will be a transit to the next venue. Entrants must obey all traffic laws. Competitors have 20 hours of track time available. There are multiple classes for team entrants of 2 to 4 persons over 18 years of age. Each team will share one vehicle, in which all of their required gear, equipment and spare parts for the tour must be carried. The vehicle must use DOT/MTO approved tires rated at 140 or greater treadwear rating. A 'tag along' trailer will be allowed and teams will be able to swap out parts and 1 set of tires during the event. Winners will be determined by the best accumulated event times for the entire week without incurring any transit infractions (speeding etc...). This event is going to be epic. There are still registration spots open. Please visit http://www.ontario1500.ca/ for more information or www.ontario1500.ca/register If you can not commit to the entire week you can still join in the fun. Lapping will be available at each track. See the web site for more details. Last edited by Gearhead999s; 10-24-2015 at 08:58 AM.. |

Btw, they made a "turbo lag" comment about a white M4 during the pilon challenge, was that your "black dog" M4? Looks like a fun event. Last edited by aboulfad; 10-25-2015 at 08:15 AM.. |

Sorry couldn't tell from the video about the color! I've read many threads here and so much inconsistent data is said about turbo lag, what's your take on it, did you really feel it, and even in Sport and/or Sport+?

The turbo lag that exists on the street & on a racetrack is not an issue even in the wet.We always run in Sport Plus on track and the power delivery has never been an issue in this car.Autocross is a different story as it is slower and a lot of off throttle which really not ideal for a turbo boosted engine for response and then you have the issue of the power arriving with a bang which makes it hard to control the Wheelspin. Both of us have autocrossed high powered normally aspirated V8's in the past with great results including a few National Championships,so this perplexed us.

We never bothered as did not really have the time to deal with it.The Scion team had 2 video guys with them all week who only dealt with the filming of their car and protspectus of the event and IMO provides a great overview of the event as we saw it.

Day 6 which was a real crappy day for us as we did not have a wet tire setup and we had really poor grip!We fell from 3rd overall to 4th overall after the day but we still have the class lead in the M4.The M4 continued to run good with zero issues.
