Drinking from the hairy cup is certainly an acquired taste, one which I have partaken of on many occasion, favourite tipple? No it tastes like putting your tongue on both terminals of a 9 volt battery.

That's the thing some do and some don't, my first experience of pie put me off for quite while, it was bad.

I think she was a one off unless you build up a tolerance

I was never a drinker while I was on drugs.
Since coming off drugs I have been educated in alcohol by some of my friends.

On a night out I thought I would do the courteous thing and bring a bottle out when I got picked up at the start of the evening.
I got told to bring out some vodka so I purchased the biggest bottle of Smirnoff the local offie had.

As soon as I took it out of the bag I was looked at with a mixture of disgust and contempt by my already tipsy pals and told....
"Bro we will overlook this indiscretion as you don't know any better, but bear in mind for the future that only prostitutes and chavs drink Smirnoff so throw that shit away."

I've since acquired a taste for Ciroc and Grey Goose when it comes to vodka.

Not much of a whiskey fan. The first time I drank Jack Daniels I thought it tasted like wood and was put off.
I don't mind Dimple but it's not a drink of choice.

As for beers, to me they taste like gone off supermalt.
I can just about stomach Bud or wifebeater. Again not a drink of choice.

I think the reason I like Goose and Ciroc is because I can hardly taste the alcohol in them.
Are there any other drinks like that?

I like to spoil myself with some nice Cognacs preferring the smaller houses to the big brand stuff and a big fan of Camus. I'd hate to sum up how much I've spent on it but I do try and keep it for special occasions, surprising how many of those crop up.
Most of the time though I like to just sit back with a Demerara Dark Rum and coke, currently Woods but need to remember it's 57% and my normal large measures tend to have me sleepy in no time.

I have golden rums that I drink neat but a dark one and a bit coke just hits the spot. I can't stand and of that spiced muck though.
My wife bought me a bottle of Ron de Jeremy, yes as in the porn star, and that is very nice on its own.

Bizarrely, Japanese Whiskys.

Not a fan of fermented grain mash usually (since parking my dads Volvo in the garage without opening the door at aged 15....another story). But I've found the Oriental mash very nice and am dabbling with different distilleries. I found that a couple dont agree with me (diary reads: 7th Jan 2017, Nikka Yoichi - Dont ever drink again!) but the remainder are very smooth and technically excellent (as you'd expect from Nippon). Its one of those drinks that you try in the right environments and evokes traditional Japanese history (not beheading Burma railway prisoners but honourable families, traditions and the attention to detail) and you feel the need to feng-shui your room prior to sipping.

If I want to get off my tits; Rocket grade cheap Russian Vodka mixed with Redex to give better mpg

Morgans spiced is a lovely thing, same as sailor Jerry's, superb.

Nothing bizarre about that - there are some very fine Japanese whiskies indeed, Yamazaki and Nikka, Suntory's Hibiki expressions are very good, particularly the 17yo.

Have to confess that working in the Whisky industry for almost 30 years makes me a "bit" biased, but you can't beat a good malt at the end of a long week. Or in the middle. Or on a Tuesday morning. Personal favourite is 25yo Highland Park, a rare treat these days, but possibly the finest malt I've ever had. That said, I'd been holding on to a bottle of 1967 Glengoyne in anticipation of the arrival of my first Grandchild; she arrived on Christmas Eve, so there was a very select group of friends and family who shared it on Boxing day, and it didn't disappoint.

Normally have a range of 'crafty' local beers when watching the rugger, a good Sauv for glugging, like a good intense rioja with steak and will happily indulge in any number of gins, though they're all a bit 'samey' for my liking. Very fond of local single variety or single orchard ciders from the south west as well. Perhaps too fond.....

Usually start with a few pints been getting into all this brew dog malarky some very nice options out there, also innis and gun is a great choice up in Scotland.

As far as a tipple goes can't beat a balvenie carribean cask

Even been known to have a G&T recently - caouroun is a nice one.
