Michelin PSS 225/45-18 Discontinued??

I'm looking to change my tires next week. I just called 3 Costcos, 3 America's Tires and a few shops in Orange County and all of them told me this PSS size is national backordered. The 3 Costcos called Michelin distribution center and were told this size was indefinitely discontinued for PSS. Is this true? Right now, only Tire Rack has these tires in stock and they don't have the 70$ rebate like everyone else.
Did Michelin really discontinue this size for PSS or did they change the product number and will produce it again in the future?

Not according to Michelin- US are any of the dealers on line. Maybe back-ordered,but definitely in production.

Its spring, certain tires become difficult to find, though I wouldnt think this is one of them but its not unheard of. There was a fairly performance tire shortage last summer but it was in larger sizes that we normally put on bimmers.

I run into the same situation. Ended up ordering the fronts from TR and rears
from Costco. Costco will do the installation.

I ordered 2 225 and 2 255 from TR because of their road hazard protection.
My car has 23k miles now. Should I do alignment check after I replace my tires? How about road force balance?

Thanks

Costco's installation package ($15 per tire) includes nitrogen fill and road force balancing. Also road hazard insurance on tires purchased from them.
You probably don't need alignment.
