340i / 440i (B58) BMW M Performance Power and Sound Kit (MPPSK) Official Release

I was able to get close to 20% discount on parts because of my individual order fiasco with BMW. Labor was a little over 2 hours. My final price was around 3250.
Impressions so far is that it's still to early to fully judge it.

Cold start is super loud but only lasts about 10 secs max. I'm noticing quite a bit of drone in sport & sport + mode especially when driving slow or anything above 70mph. When driving a little more aggressive the drone is not as noticeable and the car sounds downright amazing. No camera or video will be able to truly capture this sound. Comfort mode is great. Sounds like sport when stock on low speed levels and still very quite when cruising on the highway with no drone whatsoever.

Hard to judge the power increase because to me it just automatically feels faster now because of the noise it makes. Hopefully I can get it dynoed soon although i don't have a baseline so I'll have to go with what most guys have at 325-330whp.

I'm on the north side closer to Boulder so I typically take it in to Gebhardt, but I'm more than willing to go to the best price dealership. I put an email in to Schomp, but haven't heard back.

We should consider meeting up sometime. I'd love to hear the new exhaust. I live in Broomfield.

Nice! Getting mine installed Friday, will add my thoughts. Does the iDrive startup animation change to an M or M Performance logo?

Getting a 440i and getting the M performance installed at the port. Got a quote of $3,195 and $580 for carbon Fiber tips.

Ordering mine tomorrow from getbmwparts.com. Contacted the local dealership, they said $2680 for the MPPSK, $100 per exhaust port (stainless), and $297 for install and programming plus tax.

I'm hoping that I will come in a bit cheaper through a little DIY: $2685 from getbmwparts.com including stainless steel ports, plus $123.97 for ECU programming, plus self install of exhaust. Total should be around $2815.

Edit: I see that getbmwparts.com has raised the price of the MPPSK kit by $100. I wonder if they will sell it to me for the previous price of $2685? Evan@Tischer?

Edit2: I talked to Evan who said the price increase was due to freight shipping costs and that they are doing their best to keep the prices low. Good on Evan for reaching out to me and explaining the why of the price hike.

Well that bites, what's the point of adding a mod if you can't take the car back to stock? That seems dumb, least for those of us who have a car "problem"...aka swap cars way too often.

Never expect to get anywhere near the whole cost back when adding a mod, but can usually recoup 50-70% of it depending on what is being taken off and sold. Guess BMW wants you to own this "for life"

Day 2 and the drone is not as prevelant as it was yesterday. This exhaust just rips and backfires when driving a little aggressively. It's entoxicating and for individuals who are asking is it too much or too loud to live with as a daily. Switch to comfort, problem solved.

I haven't bottomed out or hit anything since I got the car almost 2 months ago. Can someone with the MPPSK confirm it's not suppose to be like this?

Dents seem to be a 'thing' with the 40i exhausts, the stock ones have dents too.

If you look at the pics of the MPPSK unit shipped to USA in the top of this thread, there seems to be an indentation approximately in the same place on a brand new unit?

I asked about that but never heard a response from OP.

Might be a limitation of the mfg process if they're using a fixture not made specifically for this unit to bend the tubes. Or it could just be a dent. IDK.

Those look to be the sticker price, invoice on PIA accessories can be as much as 20% less than sticker. Might want to push the dealer on price.

Yes I will definitely fight for a better price when I go and pick up the car. Dealership is in Calabasas California

Yeah, same kit MSRP as my dealer quoted. They only offered me $100 off PIA MSRP.
