PC Problems, anyone help?

Is there any particular reason why my PC would just shut down and restart? I thought it might be running too hot, could this be the case? It has only happened when I was watching videos on the web and having multiple programs running at the same time (itunes, IE, windows media player). Any ideas?

If only when multiple apps running, maybe a bad RAM stick. You might not get to teh bad part until using lots of apps. Heat shutdown could also be a problem. Check the event log, under system, to see if it tells you why it shut down.

Usually it is because your CPU overheated. If you get a memroy error you will usually get a BSoD. You can use MemTest86 to check just to be sure, but it sounds like a heat issue. What type of Mobo is it? Most will come with software that will record and log your CPU north and south bridge temps.

Once you have ruled that out, move on to unplugging pieces of hard ware one at at time and see if it changes the stability of it. Def. sounds like a hardware issue though. Could be totally wrong...
