Bluetooth calls on handset not car?

I think since iOs 10.3, most of the time when I dial from the car, the call is just on the handset; I then have to grab the handset from the armrest and change to Bluetooth.

Is this just me?

Bluetooth is upto date, iPhone 6S is upto date, its a real PITA!

Sometime you have hiccups with Bluetooth. Try deleting the pairing of the phone from the car and redoing the connection. You may need to delete the pairing from the phone as well

It connects just fine, I can access the phone and everything, but when I actually make a call the audio is on the handset, not through the car.
If I pick up the handset and switch the source then its fine.

Try pairing the phone to the car again...could have been some changes to bluetooth protocols in the iOS 10.3 update that's messing things up.

Otherwise it's a bad update of iOS and you'll have to speak to Apple about that.

Cheers, I will try that.
Appears isolated as I've not heard of others being affected.

I've been having the same issue. I've had to switch the call back over to BT in order for the car to take the call back over.

I'll try re-paring the phone to see if that clears it up.

Just tested it with my Bluetooth headphones and it does the same thing. It's definitely a IOS issue.

Has anyone contacted Apple?

Bump...anyone have any updates on this or additional input? I'm experiencing the same symptoms.

Phone pairs fine when car starts up. When receiving phone calls, if I press the button on my steering wheel, I can't hear the other person through my car. If I make outgoing calls from my car's interface, same thing. Can't hear the person through my car.

Sorry, I never posted the resolution:
Deleted all Bluetooth devices, added the phone back, and all sorted. Also responds much quicker to answering too.

I have the same issue. No audio when answering or placing a call.

Had to take out phone and change audio to phone. If you change it back to the car it works fine. This only happens on the first call made or received.

Was at dealer Saturday and talked to the Genius about it. We deleted and re-paired the phone and it was the same.

He said it is a known issue and is related to the last IOS update. They are trying fix it, but nothing to date.

Another one here with the same problem. Massive pain in the arse and since 10.3.

I'll try the repairing idea....

For what it's worth, I didn't just delete & repair.
I deleted all Bluetooth devices from the car.
I also deleted my car from the Bluetooth menu on my phone.
Restarted the head unit (hold down vol knob for AGES)
Repaired.

Too late..I was going to suggest exactly this. iOS will sometimes get confused when you have multiple bluetooth pairings saved. When in doubt, delete all pairings and start fresh.

I have the same problem with iPhone 6S and 7, both at iOS 10.3.3. BMW HU and BT software is also two months old.

Tried clean setup but no luck.

BMW or Apple should look into this because it is a serious issue for driving safety.

The solution for me was to have just one phone paired in the car, if i add another phone even if its not connected will route audio to connected phone instead of the car Bluetooth.
