Ditto on the Z4 3.0si. I got the Pilot Super Sports a few months before the new tire became available; otherwise, I would be running the Pilot Sport 4s.

I'm looking at a new set for the E70 X5 in the summer, and may go with a staggered set up on 20 inch rims. As I've frequently got the whole family aboard and could be ranging far from home, I'd prefer to stick with a run flat on that vehicle, but any tire suggestions would be welcome.

Hey guys.

I haven't changed the size of the tires on any of my previous cars but I'm thinking of changing the tire sizes on my X1 in the near future.

I have the following stock setup with RFT:
- 225/45R18 on 8ET30 front
- 255/40R18 on 9ET41 rear

I'm looking at non RFT A/S tires with ffg sizes:
- 235/45R18 front
- 265/40R18 rear
This setup will give me overall of 669mm which is more than the stock 661mm.

The new sizes seems to be ok when I checked in wheel-size.com but my questions are:
- Does offset matter on changing tires? I thought its only for changing wheels right? Just want to be sure.
- Is it OK that my new will be 669mm? 8mm more than stock.
- I'm looking at getting the Continental tire kit too. Do you guys go with this without a spare? So is it just the tire kit and a jack? What jack would you recommend that can fit under the rear compartment cover?

TIA!

A had Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 all around, but found myself stranded with a quarter size hole in the side wall of one of my front tires. So, I made it down to Discount Tires and the ONLY tire they had that fit were Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3, so I purchased a pair for the front. What a mistake, my E93 M3 was always balanced and planted in the corners, now it plows like a Ford LTD... Ok maybe not that bad, but it's definitely not M3 worthy.

I wish I could replace them with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S's, but I have the 18" rims and in Michelin's infinite wisdom the have very little support for 18" rims in the 4S. So, I'm now shopping for Michelin Pilot Super Sport (PSS).

PS4s for my f30. They're really good tires and cheaper than the PSS.

Just put on Pilot A/S 3+, just love these tires. Perfect for Texas as it’s normally hot here, but several days are below 32 degrees like this weekend.

No real complaints with the tire and very well may do them again when these wear through. Although, when these wear through I'm moving to a squared 275/30 setup so I can rotate. Only other contender is Michelin PS4S, but don't really see a reason to change over for the price hike over Continental.
