Hi Guys,

I'm looking for a good BMW indy in Nottingham or surrounding area.

I have had a quote from Sytner Nottingham for the following:

2 x front tyres & alignment
Discs & pads all round

And as you can imagine the price is well over £1k. They are willing to try and price match if I can get a second price, I'm not sure if I want to do that or go somewhere else completely.

I'm not looking for the cheapest outright price, just somewhere with a good reputation I can trust. Any suggestions?

Maybe try Hughes brothers in Derby, supposed to be very good, got my 335d going in for an intermediate oil change at the end of the week

Please do not use a main dealer for tyres and alignment, it's throwing money away!

Nottingham Wheel Alignment in Basford are excellent.

www.alltyres365.co.uk and then find a decent local fitter for tyres.

Discs and pads, source online from somewhere like Europarts and again find a quality local fitter.

I can't comment with regards to the alignment side, but would say don't discount getting the tyres done at a main dealer.

I got a puncture in one of my tyres on a Friday morning on my way into work and was due to go away that weekend.

After going online to find prices etc. the earliest I could get a fitment from either a Black Circles fitter or Halfords Auto Centre was the following Tuesday. The Black Circles price was about a tenner less than Halfords for the same tyre.

I called my local dealer, they quoted about a fiver more than Black Circles and they could book me in for 11:30 that morning. Needless to say I took it to my local dealer. In the conversation with the service advisor, I said the price was almost as good as on-line from Black Circles, so they went onto the BC website and knocked a few quid off making it cheaper.

It was done before midday with no damage to the rim and I was able to enjoy my weekend away.

Not sure what side of Nottingham you are on but I used to take both my E36 and E46 to Steve Slattery Cars in Loughborough. Always did a decent job at a fair price too.

Always priced well and offered a great service.

Oil and filter change and a quick health check on my f31 335d, whilst I waited this morning, look to be a well organised and knowledgeable organisation, so I’ll be using them again.
