Official Bimmerpost Photo Contest #102- Panoramas

I've not seen anything about this particular topic going back to 2008, so here you go.

We're talking panoramas here. Whether landscape or cityscape is up to you. In this context, the final image must be made from multiple images. So no super high res bodies with wide angles and simply cropping into a format suggesting it's a pan. Beyond that, anything goes.

As I'm one for giving folks a chance, we'll leave this one open a bit. This one will go until Tax day (or Apr 15th for non U.S. folks).

RULES:

1. Any interpretation of the theme that falls within Bimmerpost.com rules is welcome.

2. You must be the person that took the photo. Previous photos are acceptable as long as you are the one that captured the image.

3. One submission per contest, and you cannot resubmit a photo that you've submitted before in a previous contest.

4. Images must be no larger than 1440w x 810h for the sake of the screen. Links to larger images are allowed but you must have one that is under the above for the poll.

5. All contestants must host their own pictures (which includes hosting them on Bimmerpost).

6. All images must have a title.

7. While post processing in Photoshop is allowed, adding or removing parts of the picture is not. In the event a photo is suspected to be "photo-chopped," the contestant will be asked to provide the original picture.

Here are some examples:

My kind of town...

Great White

Best 'o luck!

May need to forego this rule for this contest. Most of the time you need to remove parts of an image when stitching together a pano. I always thought that was a silly rule anyway. There's nothing wrong with taking out a stray hair or a wire or other distraction from an image. I hate seeing a nice image of a castle ruined by the obvious presence of an anachronistic security camera.

I think the interpretation in this context is not adding clouds when there were none and so on. Stitching isn't the same as adding something to the image that wasn't already there.

The "adding" part I agree with. No fake skies or fake reflections.

As it seems traction is a little slow...

I'm sure most are aware, but if you're not, Microsoft makes a pretty good, free image stitching program for those that may not have anything already.

Six-image stitch. There's no additions, but I did crop to clean the edges.

FWIW, I just took this for shits and giggles with my phone last week, but had I known I'd wind up in a 50-story high-rise and that there's a contest I'd bring my SLR... I'd rather have a crappy pic to encourage participation than to have these contests go abandoned for months.

*EDIT* Sorry, it looks too shitty. Removed the pic.
