BMW F30 3-series continues testing and we recently caught a black F30 test mule. This prototype wears the same camouflage level as the recently spotted F30 sedans, but its black paint set against the camouflage tape shows off the car's lines better than a lighter color.

Squared off LED halos adorn the front headlights on this particular model, and overall the front headlights look to have a stylish and aggressive shape, as on the F10 5-series. Low and wide kidney grilles sit at the front of a sleek and sloping hood.

The F30's double side character lines are again evident from the side views. These double lines should give the F30 a distinctive look among current model BMWs, as it's a styling element not present on any other model.

These photos also show well the smooth lines of the trunk and the sleek transition into the C-pillar. The entire trunk-C-pillar area features much sleeker lines than the E90 3-series, resulting in a coupe like look. The rear lights will take on BMW's traditional L-shape.

As we reported recently, the F30 3-series will begin production in November 2011 (after production of the E90 ends in Oct.), and will come to market as 328i and 335i models. The 328i will most certainly be powered by the 'N20' turbo 4-cylinder inline engine (as found in the Z4 28i, details) and the 335i by a turbo 6-cylinder inline motor.

F30 sales are expected to begin in Europe around the time of its world public premiere at the 2012 Geneva show - in March, 2012. US sales should begin in late Spring of 2012.

Hope the production model has more aggressive wheels/better wheel selection options

All the F30 spy pics so far seems like Infiniti journey (http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=541530) and this one Infiniti sport wheels

BMW drastically needs new members on their design team. The 7/5/3 all look the same with minor changes, not to mention the wheels shown are a near exact copy of the Infiniti rims. Much like the new M5 rims are a near copy to the Audi S5's. What a joke.

I guess this is why the above complainers are sitting on a chair behind a screen, typing on a forum instead of designing cars? It's called design language. Every respected car company has and does feature some common design language among their current product line. The 3, 5, and 7 series among their generation have always shared common design. Lets not get stupid now.

And Infiniti is using the 06-08 IS250/350 sport package wheels on their G37 sport package. Also the journey wheels look nothing like the BMW wheels posted. Except that they are both round and split spoke, which BMW has been using on the e90 (style 161) since 06.

good spot on the wheel style. the wheels on the white one remind me of the early e46 330xi

I saw that too. I am assuming that they are doing that to try and "fool" people. But come on. The grills give it away every time.

I hated it when the new F styling emerged, the car journalist called the last gen E models the "bangel butts" ... and they all ran with it. IMO if the last gen BMW's came out again in the future they would still look like they were brand new.

Don't make assumptions. I acknowledge that car companies continue design schemes amongst their current range, but to the extent BMW has is a little ridiculous.

I think the new design will be close to the 5series which I personally think is the wrong design strategy for BMW. If you look at Audi, every Audio from A3 up to A7 all have the same front nose. Its rather boring and I am really scared BMW will do the same.

So true, its ridiculous that BMW still offer 16" wheels. It makes the car look so much worse.

Why are you guys so obsessed with the wheels? Only spy shots and besides... how many of you actually keep your stock wheels?
