Power adapter not working

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
I just took PCD delivery of a 340i yesterday. Photos and details to come, but it appears the 12v access power adapter between the cupholders either does not work or the output is too low to charge a phone (Galaxy S6)? And the USB plug in the armrest doesn't seem to charge either.

However, the port in the back seat (under the rear vents, behind the armrest) does seem to work.

Has anyone else seen this?

Edit: Sorry, title was botched. Should've been "Power adapter not working"

The USB in the center console is, in my opinion, for connection purposes only, my gs5 doesn't charge at all off of it. My girlfriend's iPhone seems to do just fine though. I use the front one for my radar detector, and the one in the back to charge my phone with a 1.5amp charger

The socket should work and charge your phone.

There's also another socket under your glovebox most likely.

The USB in my center console charges my phone (Droid Turbo).

The socket certainly should as well.

Time to visit the dealer.

Ditto, plus i have like a splitter on it and am running a GPS, Radar Detector and phone charger all at once. None of them draw a lot of power except for the Droid Turbo

Fuse? I run my GPS and phone on a 2-port USB power adapter from the local auto parts store.

The official use of the USB is for data transfer only.

All is well with the power adapters in my 340' you should get that checked out. You may have a crap cig->USB adapter though, so rule that out first.

My apologies to BMW and to you all. I am an idiot.

Apparently, the USB charger I was using was relatively short and did not reach deep enough into the socket; the socket by the rear vents must be slightly shallower, and it worked there. I tried a different charger, and (surprise) it worked fine.

Thanks for all the tips.
