My 435 GC is on the way to the port in CA and will arrive on May 8th according to the genius I called. I'm getting port installed options and then the car needs to get to Seattle which I figure will take about a week (so about May 15th).

I just got a "drive for USA" event invitation in Seattle which will give me a $1000 buying credit. The event is on May 18th.

Interestingly, my CA ordered my car initially as a Priority 2 on the strategy that if any events or promotions came up before I received the car, I could qualify since priority 1 cars are always excluded if ordered before the promotion begins.

My question is whether anyone knows whether this is true? That is, will I be able to wait to receive my car (eg if it comes on May 15th, wait until say May 19th to even go to the dealer), and do the Drivers event on May 18th to get the credit towards my Pri2 car?

Lucky that it's priory 2 to get the incentives, but also you probably had to wait longer than a priority 1 customer.

Yes, it's true. You have an unusually wise/thoughtful CA.
