Thanks for the reply.

I heard in the past with the previous 3 series the e90 went from a 330i ---> 335i , and the e46 has 328i ---> 330i both in the next years production model. Any likelihood of that happening with the f30?

f30 with an msport package, new engine, and a new name in the 2013 model?

Well, after spending the afternoon on this thread I really do not look at this newest addition to the BMW family as a must have. I read the opinions, and I do agree with the issues with the profile, hood line, tear ducts, and on...I rather felt empty inside.....

I went outside, did a quick walk around my e92, and wow do I feel so much better.

I will feel even better in an hour taking her for a drive.

Mixed feelings here.

Something is telling me that adjustments to the overall design will be
made for the second year of production.
There are many issues that do not flow with the car, inside and out.

Even my wife, who is totally oblivious to car designs, mentioned that the
front was too long and the rear did not go with the front!

Let's wait and see.

This is certainly the most aggressive looking/designed 3 series sedan ever made. It makes you wonder what the coupe will be like. Can't wait!

BTW, there are still plenty of E60 owners bemoaning the F10, which you think they nailed.

I think owners just resist change. Saw it on the Volvo board when the S60 came out. Then people saw it in person and realized how much better it was in the old car and that was the end of the story.

You and others don't like it, that's fine. Personally, I've driven in a ton of E90's over the last 8 months and think they're crap interior, boring exterior, snooze interior design, bad materials, etc. It's fast and fun, but that's about it.

But again, just my opinion.

how cool is this for commuting...

"Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function

Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function - or ACC Stop&Go for short - not only maintains the desired distance to the vehicle in front, in heavy traffic it also slows the car to a standstill. Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function is a further development of the familiar Active Cruise Control (ACC) system. At speeds between 30 and 180 km/h (19 - 112 mph), it enables drivers to cruise along comfortably in free-flowing traffic on motorways or country roads at their preselected speed and while maintaining their desired distance to the vehicle in front. If traffic conditions demand, the system also adjusts the car's distance automatically to the vehicle ahead of it.

ACC Stop&Go likewise relieves the workload on the driver of the new BMW 3-Series Sedan in slow-moving traffic and tailbacks. In stop-start conditions the car is braked to a standstill, if required, and pulls away again automatically. This allows the driver to move comfortably with the flow of the traffic and delegate the job of creeping, stopping and moving off to the car. If the car has been at a standstill for a longer period of time (more than three seconds), the driver has to give the command for the car to automatically pull away again by nudging the accelerator or pressing the "Resume" button on the multifunction steering wheel. The driver can adjust the car's speed at any time while the system is activated by pressing the accelerator or brake pedal, and so retains ultimate responsibility for the car at all times.

The maximum deceleration applied by Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function at low speeds is 4 m/s2 (13 ft/s2). At higher speeds, it is limited to a comfortable 2.5 m/s2 (8 ft/s2). If the driver needs to intervene because the vehicle in front is braking extremely heavily, he is prompted to do so by visual and acoustic signals. At the same time, the deployment thresholds of the Brake Assistant are lowered and the Brake Standby function of the DSC system is activated.

Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function works using a latest-generation radar sensor. The "full-range" radar can detect vehicles travelling up to 200 metres (656 ft.) in front of the car in virtually any weather conditions. This innovative sensor is integrated discreetly into the front apron of the car and needs no individual adjustment. The system's measuring beam is sufficiently broad at distances up to some 60 metres (approx. 200 ft.) from the car that vehicles in the adjacent lanes can be detected by the radar sensors - within certain limits - earlier than with the conventional ACC system. If another vehicle moves into the same lane as the driver's car, Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function adapts the speed of the BMW 3-Series precisely to that of the vehicle moving over."

This is exactly what bothers me...

Reading through this post, funny how the person who likes the exterior doesnīt like the interior, and viceversa... the only one that will laugh at the end will be BMW, when we all sooner or later update to one of these...

But donīt worry, maybe they will hear the public and change that front part during the LCI...that front part seems to be modular enough to be changed easily...truly hope so.

I'm pleased this car looks so much better than the F20 1 series. I am not a fan of the larger size, but the looks alone wouldn't stop me from buying this car.

Personaly I'd prefer non-turbo six and hydraulic power steering, so I plan to hold onto my E90. Unfortunately times have changed and BMW don't make cars the same way anymore.

First impression was WOW, looks great.

Then after looking at few more pics and angles I saw the "my nose is diving" Z4 + Mitsu Lancer front end.

Or is it just all in my head?

PS: But looks way better than F20

I on the other hand like both the exterior and the interior.. Front more than the back though

You mean massive body roll, a steering system that is not connected to the front wheels, and the engine note played through the speaker system?!?!?!?!

That line on the hood opening looks awful... Why didn't they just move it down so there'll only be a small line between the kidneys?

That line simply messes up with the whole flow of the hood.

Completely agree. It looks similar to those Hundai, Kia, MG6... They all have that Ͼ===Ͽ going at the bottom. Here's some examples:

The BMW one made it worse by putting so much chrome/silver "stuff" in it too. Look like those people that went crazy with the chrome stripes you buy at auto parts store.

Eh, don't love the face. Not sure about the angle of the head
Ights...might grow on me, we will see.

Wonder if BMW will adjust the output of the N55 or introduce a new engine for the 335 and how soon that will happen....
