COMMENTS

We're at the LA Auto Show, where BMWNA has announced the U.S. base price for the 2012 328i and 335i sedans, as follows:

2012 328i - $34,900
2012 335i - $42,400

Compare this to the outgoing 2011 E90 sedan:
2011 328i - $34,600
2011 335i - $42,050

The base price increase over the 2011 models are just $300 and $350, which are very reasonable considering the increased standard equipment and features that the F30 3 series receives.

The full list of options and packages can be found in the F30 Ordering Guide we recently posted.

The BMW F30 3 series will make its world public debut at the Detroit auto show (NAIAS) in January 2012.

FULL 2012 3 SERIES SEDAN (F30) PRICING (with all options and packages):

Every model has the iDrive screen, but that doesn't include Nav. Nav is still an option you have to purchase separately.

glad i-drive is finally standard on the F30, seeing as how audi and mercedes have had their systems standard since 09 and 08. I wonder how much the premium pack is going to go up now that includes a few more things. I'm still really confused as far as the packaging situation goes. Is there a sport package or do you have to get "sport line?" Also, what wheels will be on the standard cars with none of the "lines"? I actually really like the "luxury" multi-spoke wheels and brown leather but want the sport suspension...so confused lol

That the "base" price the 328i should at least come with xenons as standard.

I guess that's not too bad considering the extra equipment the car comes with.

What is with this? No German car in the segment comes standard with xenons. A4 and C250 both come with halogen lights as standard. Personally, if I can save a grand for something useful, I'd skip them. I've had both halogen and HID and in a city, really don't care one way or the other, aside from the styling and look at me factor.

Personally, having used halogen, HID and LED lighting for mountain biking, I'd really prefer LED lights, and don't imagine it will be long until they're standard in many more cars. They're generally cheaper and more reliable than HID's for a given output. Oh, and "lasers".

So we can expect the new base 328i x-drive to be around $37,775?

Pricing

Does the $35,775 price include destination and handling? If so it would be $34,900 + $875 = $35,775, which would make more sense.

You mean massive body roll, a steering system that is not connected to the front wheels, and the engine note played through the speaker system?!?!?!?!

We don't love, love but much more tolerable than the first iDrive system. And come on, it's pretty cool to just have a screen there.
