The lovely M Sport Package for the all-new F30 3 series sedan made another appearance at the International Media Launch of the 2012 3 series sedan in Barcelona, from where we've just returned.

The M Sport Package will be available worldwide as of July 2012 production. This is the soonest that an M Sport package has been made available after a new BMW model launch. As BMW board member Harald Krüger explained to us, the advanced release date is to convince existing E90 M Sport customers to make a switch to the F30 M Sport model - customers who may otherwise not upgrade to the new 3 series or potentially buy a competitor's model.

The exterior color Estoril Blue II as seen on this F30 335i M Sport is exclusive to the M Sport Package. As per tradition, the alcantara interior will not be available in the US, mostly due to the lack of acceptance of cloth interiors from the general US market. The U.S. will get leather only as part of the M Sport Package.

This particular car had the instrument cluster of the Sports Line including the red letters and accents in the gauges. BMW has not yet decided whether they will switch to blue accents for the production version to match the blue interior trim.

Finally, the optional M Sport Brakes will NOT be part of the M Sport Package. What you see in these images are the standard brakes for the F30 335i. The M Sport Brake will likely be available from Autumn 2012 on, and comprise of fixed-piston calipers (4 piston front, 2 piston rear) and larger brake discs.

Official BMW press release and photos, together with our previous gallery from the F30 launch in Munich:

Quote:
BMW Press Release:

The M Sport package with its innovative equipment features is based on the athleticism of the new BMW 3 Series Sedan with Sport Line and turns to the BMW M3 for its appearance. One constituent is the M Sport suspension lowered by ten millimetres with stiffer spring and damper settings as well as harder stabilisers.

Its dynamic character is emphasised by the exclusive M Sport body colour of Estoril Blue metallic, a special aerodynamics package with numerous body components, chromium exhaust pipe finishers, modified suspension settings and M Sport light-alloy wheels with a diameter of 18 or 19 inches. Front and rear bumpers, sill covers in body colour and a striking diffusor insert in Dark Shadow Metallic on the tail underline the sporting character of the M Sport package, exploiting its visual effect to the full.

On the inside, the M Sport package includes the M leather steering wheel with multifunction including short-shifter gear lever (for manual transmission) in soft leather nappa with M emblem and sports seats. The seat covers are in a characteristic fabric-Alcantara design. In addition, there are three further leather finishes.

The decorative surface is designed in Aluminium Hexagon with blue accent trim strip. The M emblem decorates the entry sill and footrest.

The M Sport package – made-to-measure ingredients for true sports enthusiasts.

looks sharp!

can't wait to see it in person. The M-package will probably be the most popular selling feature for the new 3 series.

Don't think i could live with that steering wheels It's very retro...and for the first time the SE steering wheels actually looks better than the M-Sport version(F30 vs E90). And the idrive/satnav screen just look like an afterthought. The interior of the F10 is much nicer

I feel like the rear diffuser should drop down lower to cover the full height of the exhaust tips.

Hmmm...they're thinking of maybe blue letters and accents for the gauge cluster?

Anyone up for photoshopping this pic with blue accents?

Still looks like a facelifted E90 as opposed to an all new model.
The headlights look crap and the idrive screen looks like an eBay special from Taiwan.
Mercedes will be having my money when I change cars.

No, dual zone climate control will be standard in the US.

Im guessing luxury is a higher priority to you than driving dynamics and capabilities.

Not at all, BMW have played too safe with this car.

As I said it looks too much like a facelifted E90 as opposed to an all new model.
