Current State:

Hey everyone, thought it was time I opened one of these threads. Just wanted to share and keep track of things I've been doing to my F30. Nothing too crazy and not a "real" build thread. But figured it'd be nice to have all my pics and stuff in one place.

Came from a VW GLI which I loved, but put a ton of miles on in 3 years...like 90k. It was time for a change when I switched jobs that didn't require me to travel as much. Also told myself I wouldn't mod my next car as much, but who the f am I kidding?

I was very close to getting a EBII 335i with the 6MT, but cooler heads prevailed as ATL traffic is a bitch to deal with (bad excuse, I know!) and my fiance needs to be able to drive the car at times as well. I also felt I would get tired of the EBII after a little.

So in came a CPO '13 Glacier Silver 335i! My first Bimmer

Black Kidney Grills within the first week. Then smoked front reflector followed soon after.

In the meantime, I found these M3 style CF mirrors that I really liked. They look great to me, but the finishing touches on it leave a bit to be desired (the seal on the inside started to split a little from the heat). I can deal with it for now

Next came the Bilstein B14s. I've posted before about how much I love this setup.

Sold the 403Ms. Even though I love them, they were a pain in the ass to clean and I wanted something wider and lighter. Went to 20's and decided I wasn't a fan in general.

This is the only pic I got of the 20's on my car...during the downpipe install! Challenge HFC DP that I got off a forum member here. Nice deep growl on acceleration. No drone. Love it.

Got the DP installed at Alex Auto in Roswell. Alex was a cool dude. Check out his silver E39 M5 in the corner of that pic. He moved it out to the parking lot and I was drooling.

I always wanted wheels with a lip, but it seemed like any wheel I liked was going to be 1k/wheel. I know they say "you gotta pay to play", but I'm not ballin' on that court. I pined over what wheels to go with and decided to say fuck it. Reps are fine with me as long as I found them to be good quality and like the way they look.

Boom.

This set up has me obsessed with my car now. I know it may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I've always loved a silver car on wheels with a machined lip and a dark center. The look and the ride (no longer on RFTs thank god) just feels right to me. They are about 27 and 28lbs so not that light, but still lighter than the 30lb 403Ms!

Also recently debadged because I'm a fan of the symmetry. Added an M3 style color matched spoiler for the understated look from the rear. I kind of felt the M performance spoiler was just too much aesthetically. And got the dark shadow color matched rear reflectors from IND.

Took a bunch of pictures over the weekend at my dad's house in NC. Just iPhone pics, because I don't have a cool camera and I'm pretty shit at photography anyways lol.

Looks great man... The silver paint plus wheel color scheme goes together nicely.

The exhaust tips appear to be aftermarket... what did you end up going with?

[Disregard: I see you installed a catted downpipe!] Downpipe... in Metro Atlanta... are you not concerned about emissions testing?

Thanks man. After I went back to OEM muffler, I added some 4" chrome tips I found online. Just fills the space better IMO. Nothing too special.

The DP and emissions thing does have me nervous. I've got till June next year to figure out a solution, so I'm kind of just putting that off for now lol.

Right now, I think I'm at a place where I'm happy for a while. Trying to hold off on anything else. Maybe a JB4 later on, but I'm also trying to save for a wedding right now!

Only thing I am debating is swapping out the smoked front reflector for a paint matched one which I have sitting in my trunk. Still can't decide on that.

It's on the list. I probably should go ahead and do it but i'm trying to exercise some patience lol. Hoping to wait till mid next year.

I've also read it's not exactly required right away with the catted dp so it doesn't feel like an urgent need.

Yeah, I just can't tell if the outline of the cutout will bother me. Right now it looks like a reflector. I sometimes feel like the color matched will look like I jus ttried to plug a hole or something haha.

I'll have to try it when I get some time I guess.

You could really open the aperture to get rid of the grainyness and separate the subject from the background. Some DOF bokeh will pull focus on the car rather than the basketball hoop and Honda, which are distracting. Just some friendly little phototography pointers!
