Picked up our M Performance Sapphire Black F31 M Sport Touring

Our end of financial year tax breaks here in Australia encouraged my wife an I to pick up this near new M Sport Touring with a full set of M Performance Goodies.

Only thing really missing is M Performance Brakes.

The OEM brakes look a little tiny with the 20" light alloy 361 wheels. When I test drove the 2017 model with the standard 19" alloys, the 20s seem to drive noticeably better. I assume due to the slightly wider track, less weight and lower profile.

We initially thought the red was a little much but I think its growing on us and we couldn't resist it with all the other m performance parts which were essentially included at no extra cost.

It was a BMW Press/Media car here in Australia and very well optioned. I believe a one of so I thought I'd share some photos. I think she looks very nice.

Here's us picking her up, love the matching bow and a few of the press photos I borrowed:

That's one sexy wagon - interior trim should be in red though in keeping with your exterior colour theme and steering wheel

Love the wagon. Really cool exterior and interior. Was certainly well optioned! I added black chrome tail pipes. Also the Alcantara arm rest is a nice upgrade. Seriously considering your steering wheel.

Congrats!

Thanks guys, really appreciate the feedback and the tips.

I was worried that coming from the E91 335i would be a bit of a let down but the M Performance 330i feels more special to me and is still reasonably quick. 0-100kmh is actually the same as the E91 335i.

The 335i/340i F31 is also not available in Australia so no option there.

We were also looking at 2013 B8.5 RS4 avants but glad we went with the 330i which I think is kind of more special and fun to drive in sport +, let a lone the huge savings for future maintenance costs, etc.

I hadn't thought of the MP handbrake but I'll check it out.

The alcantara arm rest would be nice but I think our kids would mess it up!

I highly recommend the alcantara M Performance Steering wheel. So nice to the touch and doesn't get too cold in the winter or too hot in the summer. I had the interior treated with protectant so I'm hoping the wheel will stay clean which is the only concern with it.

What I find really refreshing about the M Performance interior is the matt silver/grey carbon, though I know some people think it looks cheap. However, I think its a nice change to the usual gloss black carbon interior trim which IMO is a bit old school now and what I have in my old 2001 Audi!

Thanks, I think the matte carbon looks better than the gloss... I have the handbrake on my wish list... still considering the mperformance interior. The armrest upgrade for me was to add the cf look when slide forward! I bought the Sonax cleaner.

This.

Other than that, it's beautiful. I have the exact same interior (sans blue trim)...the alcantara/CF goes lovely with the black on black config.

Aside from switching the blue trims for red, I'd love to give @donR plenty of ideas to accentuate the 'redness' in your bimmer. But maybe after you've had it a while. For now, I'm sure you enjoying every moment your new beauty!

Thanks again.

Ok so do you mean those blue interior trim bits should be red. I agree it was one thing I found strange about the interior, what a clash, but I thought it was not an option but some BMW blue color thing.

I agree red would look better. Anyone seen an interior with red "blue bits"?

Sweet ride, looks baller, especially with the underside of the side skirts in red!

Get rid of those tiny M badges and it'll be looking cleannnnn. Must be in the rest of the world that gets those things, never seen them on any U.S cars

Just my 2 cents. Again, sweet ride

The "sport line" can get them as an option. I think you should add the red contrast stitching too!

Thankyou, this red would have made the interior perfect!

Maybe I can just retrofit those red trim parts

Yeah I have read a bit about those m badges.. must be just some European and Australian cars that get those little side ones.

The red trim on the dash with black gloss is simply gorgeous. I had that on my previous 328, and I feel it's much nicer than the CF/Alcantara trims that I currently have.

However, for still more red, you can add these OEM floormats.

Or get your calipers painted to faux ///M brakes
