BMW Apps.....tech packaged required?

So when I try and build a car on the BMW site, it tells me I must have the Tech package to have BMW Apps....is this true?

I may be wrong, but you need to equip navigation in order to get bmw apps, which would require the technology package. There is no stand alone nav option anymore. You also have to equip bluetooth as well.

That really sucks. I figured you could use BMW apps on the screen regardless of having the Tech Package.....

Basic BT (handsfree phone) is standard.
But Apps ($250) requires Tech Package ($2550) and BMW Assist with enhanced BT ($650) - $3200 total
