Coral red

Just got back from looking at a black sapphire with coral red and was wondering opinions on it. My last two cars were black on black and now I'm shopping for an f30 so I wanted to see it in person. The color is fairly striking. .
I noticed when your driving you don't notice the color that much, it's more when you first get in.
I like the color and my gut feeling is I would be happy with black or red. Basically what I am getting at are opinions from people who have had the red for awhile. You know, how is it living with it? I have read past posts positive and negative. My impression is that it makes the car a bit more lively and light. It's always hard getting a solid impression from just a test drive and you never know how you will feel with certain aspects of a car once you own it. And in case anyone wonders it is a 2013 msport fully loaded car.

I personally love it, but I think it's polarizing. My friends are quick to either point out they love it or hate it. To me, red gives the interior a little pop from all black. It is though, a little harder to keep clean.

It definately gives pop. I'm not worried about keeping it clean as I personally detail my cars often. It definately is different...my son loves it! I've never had a car with that much color inside. I'm kind of leaning towards going for it.

Every person who has seen my car loves it. Now that I have owned it for about 1 year, I dont even notice it any more.

i have a Sapphire Black F32 with Coral Red leather. I can tell you from experience that the combo is stunning and draws a lot of attention/admiration/envy.

If this is the reaction you're looking for, great, but be prepared for it.

Not harder to keep clean, just that the dirt will show more if you neglect your car.

Hopefully you wouldn't neglect to clean your ride no matter the color of the interior.

You should protect the leather monthly in the summer and at least every 2 months when cold out. A good leather cleaner and conditioner will keep your seats looking great. My car still looks like new, as I am a detailing nut.

You can see my numerous posts in that section of the forum on recommended products and techniques.

Had my Mineral Grey/Coral Red for 10 months and I love it. Out of everyone who's been in my car most loved it one person was not a fan. I think the interior door lights look much better on CR as well, compared to Black where they seem very dim.

I agree. I had it for 6 years in a row on 2 different cars. I have saddle brown now to change it but am going back to coral red on the next one. Gorgeous combo with black exterior.

I ended up getting an EB with the black interior, though my ideal setup was Alpine with Coral. I personally really like some complementary colors on the interior, be it Oyster, Coral, or now Saddle.

All that being said, I can't tell you how I'd like it long-term, but I really like Coral.

I get my 340i in Alpine White and Coral Red in a week and I can't wait. It's my first red interior in 12 years when I had a Silver Grey e46 M3 on Imola Red leather. I think I like Imola Red leather better because Coral Red seems brighter but we'll see.

Of all the BMWs I've had I've gotten the most compliments with the red interior and I personally loved it the most. I've had black leather interior on a few BMWs and it felt bland. Silver leather was nice but still didn't pop as nicely as red.

Go for it.

I concur, I love the red as well. So much I just had to order one.

I believe coral red is the only color hand stitched from calfskin... but maybe my memory is off

This is pure taste. I don't really like the red interior, but you will see plenty of people here that absolutely love it. It's your car, and you have to live with it. If you are on the fence, trust your gut, because you are the one that needs to live with the decision, not any of us.

Get it.

https://flic.kr/p/BH7jKv

It's not any more difficult to keep clean than other colors. When you take delivery, have the interior detailed and protected, and just vacuum/wipe it down once a week or once a month depending on use. Conditioner once a year of necessary. Pretty straightforward and totally worth it.

Glacier Silver with the Coral red and absolutely love the combo. Get the red for sure, blacks just too blah.

Mineral gray over coral red here...almost 3 years old now. Still love it. And like the OP says, you don't really notice it when you're driving. Only interior color choices in 2013 for M-sport were red, black, or beige, and I was tired of black interiors. Wife actually picked the color.

If I could have only chose one option on my car it would be the coral red. Never get tired of it, holds up very well, and makes the car feel more special than most cars on the road. Can't go wrong with CR.

Love my CR and would strongly consider again on my next BMW. The choice of trim will impact the look; I personally like the aluminum hex because it blends with other silver highlights for a very clean look.
The different wood tones introduce a another color and look which can make it look busy.
