I Only have the no nav idrive, you know, the standard one, do I still get the sport display that shows live power and torque readings?

Garage List
I have a question about the sort display. Does the car actually measure the current horsepower and torque (as a dyno would) or does it simply read values out of memory based on the engine's specification using input parameters such as the engine rpm to address the data?

I'm certain it is the latter.

It is vaguely amusing for 2-3 minutes.

This. I wouldn't be put down if you wind up without it. I tried it once and haven't put it back on since.

I've never gotten around to turning it on in mine! Saw it on the test drive though.

That's a shame, it's a gimmick but a vaguely amusing one at that.. Well, if that's the only thing I miss out on, I suppose I'm not doing too badly.

Wouldn't be surprised if it was pre programmed numbers

I'd rather have an accelerometer with g-force graphing for x and y planes.
