Rear trunk wont open on 2014 328i is it REM module??

The rear trunk wont open. It won open using the button above license place on trunk, it wont open with button on key fob and wont open with button beside drivers seat. the dealer is saying the rear module REM is fried. if it is fried would all other things not work>>?? rear windows and locks work ok.. all lights ok.. single issue is trunk.. can it be a fuse or a lose wire>??
any ideas??

If the REM was fried the trunk would be the least of your problems. Run a scan for error codes.

Without seeing an error code scan no one can venture more than an educated guess. If the REM was fried you wouldn't have any rear lights, or rear camera and PDC.

Owning a scanner, even if it's a freeware app, isn't optional, it's mandatory. Without one you're totally at the mercy of shops. What do you think is the first thing they do to diagnose problems? They do a scan. Then they charge you through the nose for it.

Yes.. checked the glovebox switch shows unlocked... i called the bmw dealer and asked what they saw when they looked at the trunk.. A) they said there are no fault codes. B) they claimed it was the module c) they said they disconnected the module and ran full power to trunk and they trunk worked. d) they said the module was only sending a lower voltage to the trunk. e ) so they say the trunk portion of the module is dead. can that be the case>??
is there anything else to try??
are there any fuses that may have been missed??

Can I do any damage or mess anything up if I take fuses out to check them and put them back?? I read it could fry things.

You can disconnect battery, or if you have multimeter will make a lot easier!
