Mobile Phone Preparation

While I'm waiting for my car to arrive, I've been making some initial enquiries in to getting the accessory parts required to attach my mobile phone to the car. I have an iPhone 4S and the main things I wanted were the ability to stream audio to the entertainment system and of course make and receive calls through the car (preferably handsfree).

I ended up adding the Music Interface and Bluetooth with Voice Control options to the car, but when I used the Bluetooth Interface compatibility system on the BMW website (http://www.bmw.com/com/en/owners/nav...ROW&country=au), I noticed that it refers to a component I can't find anywhere else.

When I select the iPhone 4S in that configurator, it asks what equipment I have installed noting first the Navigation package, but after that whether I have "Preparation for Mobile Phone Business with Bluetooth Interface (633)" or "Preparation for Mobile Phone with Bluetooth Interface (644)".

Does anyone know what these two latter parts are? I'm hoping that they are accessories fitted post delivery since they didn't appear anywhere in any of the material I used to order the car, nor do those part numbers appear on my production list on bmwvin.com

Cheers for the assistance.

Hmmm..Blue tooth comes standard and I Phones will work just by using the USB cable that comes with the iPhone.. What you're looking for is this? (Extra bits)

(6NF) Music Interface for Smartphones, integration of iPhone 3, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S when using Genuine BMW Accessory snap in adaptor (playback of music via the in-car system and track names shown on the Control Display)

and

(6NK) Extended connectivity of Bluetooth/USB with Voice Control, incl. Bluetooth audio streaming, pairing of multiple Bluetooth devices, office functions and album cover display

The IPhone attachment cradel for BMW dont bother with it.. wont work with IPhone5 if you're thinking of changing.

I've got both of those components (6NF & 6NK) in my build, and at the end of the day, the dealer assured me that they were everything I needed to connect the iPhone (short of the snap in adapter).

While waiting for the car to arrive I'm simply experiencing the paranoia of "what if there was something else I need that I didn't order?" I'll figure it out when it gets here anyway, because it's too late to change anything now.

I did notice that on the snap-in adapter page of the BMW website it says "For vehicles with Bluetooth hands-free kit (option 633/644/7SP/7HE)" - I haven't seen any of those part numbers anywhere else.

Dont worry mate.. you're good. I have done my due diligence investigating this.

It's the only request my Mrs has.. which is to be able to play her iPhone tunes in the car.

No good for me countless hours of R&B music what joy.
