Lightbulb BMW F30 vs F10 Real Life Comparison Photos

A great set of real life comparison photos between the F30 and F10, by Paul Tan.

Although the general styling of the newest 3 series and 5 series is now more consistent and shares more styling cues than the previous generation E90 and E60, there are still significant differences (in particular the front end) between the two designs as these photos highlight.

Here's the tale of the tape for the F30 and F10:

F30
Height - 56.3 in
Length - 182.5 in
Width - 71.3 in
Wheelbase - 110.6 in

F10
Height - 57.6 in
Length - 192.8 in
Width - 73.2 in
Wheelbase - 116.8

Nice pics but I'd like to see a compo of the F30 vs the E39 and the F10 vs the E38..

Other than the length, and a couple inches in width, it is more similar that I would have thought.

They're both beautiful. I know they look a lot alike, but it works so far as profit for BMW is concerned.

Those extra 10" in length really do make a great difference once you are inside

Thanks Jason, this is what i have been looking for.

I always can make the differentiation among BMW cars,
but these two: the F10 and F30 are just troubling!

the resemblance is ?!
Especially from these two perspectives:

i shall add mine two here:

it took me quite a few pictures and now these more aggressive headlights are growing on me but the 3 series does the look a bit better because the front end looks sleeker too.

I agree. THe sloping front really adds a sleekness that just gives it an elegant yet athletic stance. I saw an F30 on Sunday making a simple right turn into a parking lot and the car just appears to glide..

Most of that extra 6" wheelbase and 10" overall length is utilized to coddle the front passengers. Negligible difference in the rear seats between the two cars in real world feel.

after seeing these pix i am officially turned off by the new 3 series. for the life of me i can not get used to it and all of its looks. the 5 series just looks much more sleeker and attractive compared to the 3.

i will be keeping my fingers crossed for the 1 series sedan and hope they dont butcher that one like they did the hatch.

I've had a F30 for three days while resolving a problem on my F11.
I was so happy to get met F11 back. Everything is better: comfort, sound system, silence, overall quality, GPS screen,...
I do like the F30, but it doesn't feel like my three previous BMW (last was an E92)

Another noticeable difference is the ride height, the F10 looks like it has a lift kit next to the F30.

both look good but I think the front of the 5er looks a little better. The car as a whole is too big for my tastes though.
