M Sport - difference in ride height

Can anybody please confirm that the ride height of a 320D M Sport on 18 inch wheels is exactly the same as that on 19 inch wheels?
The kerbside before my driveway has a steep pitch which could catch the front splitters on the car. I have checked that an M Sport on 19 inch wheels will go on (just) without causing damage, but I am opting for 18 inch wheels to keep costs down. I assume the smaller diamater alloy is compensated by 1 inch more rubber to keepthe ride height the same.

Can anyone confirm this is the case?

Thanks.

The 19" wheels are 1.25mm larger in radius so will sit that much higher

You're comparing 225/45 R18 with 225/40 R19

Thanks, I think if it sits only 1.25mm lower on 18's than 19's it should be ok, I hope so anyway.

The height is exactly the same. The larger 19" wheels have lower profile tyres 40 section, the smaller wheels 18" have a larger side wall, 45 section which make the total diameter of wheel plus tyre the same!

1.25mm is nothing. Think of ANY worn tyre vs brand new tyre - you are looking about 6-7mm difference so 1.25mm is negligible!
