CANT DECIDE!!! 2013 z4 or 335i

going crazy here because i can't decide between the 2 cars.
planning on a 3 year lease on one of the cars.

1. z4, model won't change until 2016? / $500/year more on insurance/ more per month compared to 335i/ sexy as hell

2. 335i, coupe will be coming out and im gonna want that/ cheaper than the z4/ cheaper insurance than the z4

ultimately i want a coupe but the 335i is pretty damn nice. only problem is, i've had a sedan the past 4 years and i used the back seat twice. Currently have a Acura TL-S and i know the cars don't compare but want a 2 door now. However, due to the price difference/ gas mileage, 335i is a very good option also.

What would you guys do?

btw, young and single and i've only seen 1 other z4 in my area

335 over a Z4 all day for me. thats a no brainer.

If your thinking Z4 you better get a Porsche instead. Especially when porsche owns it in pretty much every single category.

i would take a stripped down boxster before any Z. *flame suit on*

Sorry the Z4 is a bit of a poser now. That may offend some, but I am being honest. It has gotten larger, heavier, more complicated, and more expensive. It's a GT car now, not really a Roadster.

If I was looking at such a car I would be running to go to the 2013 Boxster.

I had the Z4. Enjoyed it. Handling not nearly as good a an F30. I have an f30. No contest. I had adaptive also.
It was a nice car to cruise in top down. not the best on long trips.

Look at a Boxster, no comparison.

I just replaced my roadster (06 SLK350) with the 335i. You cannot get the sports car experience with a sedan, the SLK was aggressive, sounded fantastic was a lot of fun on windy county roads. But the stiff suspension broke my back and even though I am single and thought that I wont need the rear seats or storage, I did often miss it.

I would say that if you have a second car, then get a Z4 / boxter / SLK; else get the 335.

I will have to say that Justinnum is right...

at least, imho, i agree with him...

335i coupe over Z4
335i sedan over Z4
335i GC over Z4

Boxster over 335i
therefore
Boxster over Z4

Z4 over Mini
Z4 over Fiat 500

The Z4 is a really nice car... i am not denying it.
But in the same category, you just cannot ignore the pink elephant (in the room) that is the Boxster.

If you do, all the props to you, because at least you wont cross to many Z4s in the streets instead of being seen as another Porsche poser...

Can't really say ugly....

My plans are just drop with 20" with the 3d design lip.
maybe get a dinan chip if it feels too slow
o yea, can't forget the black grills

I'm sure a drop + 20" rims will really soften up the notoriously good ride quality on the Z4.

As others have mentioned, I think there are better options than the Z4.

Boxster is a better choice, no question, if you are buying. On the other hand, if you are leasing, Z4 is a better value for the money.

As far as E92 goes, the new model is coming out next year and I wouldn't want to buy a new car at end of its production cycle.

I'd echo previous statements: if you want a "car" then get the 335i. if you want a coupe then get a Porsche. Don't get a Z4 because, with the greatest of respect, it was designed for the American market so it's shit. The Porsche is a proper drivers' car. It's better built, better to drive, better looking, more exclusive ...

But if you want a boot and stuff then it's the 335i every time

If I could buy the Z4 again I'd add adaptive suspension for bad roads to ease your back, sadly ended up giving it to my son and bought an X5 which is now getting replaced for an F30 as the wife refuses to drive the X5 as it is too big and hard to park. The F30 is great all round imo.

Current Z4 is one of the best looking roadster out there.

Not sure why so many members are calling girl's car.

I have both, z4 35is and 335i and enjoy driving driving my z4 all day long.

Check my avatar

Have fun making decision, that's tough one.
