How often do you speak to your dealer for updates?

My Dealer said they would send me weekly updates, but it'll be two weeks tomorrow since the last one, so i'll be contacting them in morning for an update. Mines supposed to be due in three weeks.

I ring BMW UK Customer services and ask them for an update. You just need the order number or VIN, they are very helpful and saves me having to play phone tennis with dealer. Also keeps me one step ahead so they can't bulls##t me. Found out today car has arrived at Southampton and will be with dealer latest in a week's time.

Expectation management. He gave me a preliminary delivery date, then just kept me updated with any changes. So, if he doesn't call me, nothings changed.

Let me know when they had the 330D F31 in the showroom so I could take a look.

Any questions, I'll give him a call or drop him an email and he's got back to me each time.

In total though since I ordered (end of August), probably called me to give me updates on delivery about 3-4 times.

I get an update via email once a week without me chasing and without anything haven't changed. I did ask about my VIN but I was told it wouldn't be allocated until it was built. Is that true?

I normally ring them once a week..I totally forgot about BMW UK Customer Services its always good to have a backup plan, thanks for the reminder!!

Yes that is true but the dealer order number is specific and traceable.

That's the kind of service I would expect from all the Dealers..

I was given my VIN when the car went to code 5050 which is just before it is being built..see below.

The last code I was given last Thursday was 5055, we are now in my BW 47, it would be great if I could follow the car through its build stages this week without having to chase for an update..

The good news is that I can now see the light at the end of the tunnel..!!

I would guess this week is your Build Week also, our cars should arrive in the UK together

I ordered the safety pack, wouldn't say it was wasted especially if it alerts you to traffic in your blind spot and avoids something happening. Of course we all say we will never need that, but who knows.

Anyway I like my gadgets and thought perhaps the vibrating whilst changing lanes might pull the "broken working indicator" out of a long standing BMW driver :P

It drove me mad changing lanes and getting vibrations all the time, just turned it off.
